safety day

If the weather is jump able we will have a "simulated engine failure load" in the Otter. Let people do a hop-n-pop from 3,000. It's good practice for the pilots to go over emergency procedures. There's certainly not near as much tension as during the real deal but it at least shows the jumpers that a Super Otter will climb on one engine if flown properly.

A lot of the BP folks went to Jumptown, Orange MA last year and I expect many will this year. Free jump from 4 grand if you take suspended harness training.

With three Otters parked 10 minutes away, it will be hard to avoid thinking about jumping if the weather's nice.

Pepperell, MA Safety Day is at the end of March, when more full-time staff will be back,

Guess you don't know Chris, do you?
Lead pilot of the world record jumps at Chicago.
Flies turboprops for a regional carrier.

Chris: How often do you go in the box? Or is that not required for your carrier? Engine out is part of it, right?

Sorry Pete. Forgive Skymedic for his forum faux paux of NOT STICKING TO THE TOPIC IN A TOPICAL FORUM. Yes, I do go in the box and as a matter of fact it is for a JET now! And I be the Captain on that JET now! Who da thunk huh? But somehow I slipped through the cracks. Yah, engine out is part of it. But it's nice to practice it in each of the planes that you fly. They will all have just a little bit different feel and may have slightly different procedures for securing the engine. Good thing to practice.

Medic and I used to do lunch every week when he lived up here in the frozen tundra.

We started spreading rumors a month and a half ahead of time.
We still have not set a date, but sometime in March will will hold a half day refresher session for tandem instructors.
We are trying to line up all our ducks so we can hold it the same weekend as CSPA's Annual General Meeting.
