Whuffo: (N), A slightly prejoritive term used by skydivers to describe, or name, any non-skydiver. Originated sometime in the early 60's.
Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off.

I have to say, I recognise it as a term, but what kind of example of use of the English language is that?!

Id like to think it was something more like...

Skydiver - 'I jump out of perfectly good aeroplanes'
Non-skydiver - What for? <-- WHUFFO

Ya know what was funny is that me and a bunch of jumpers from Skydive San Diego went out to eat a few weeks back, ... One of the jumpers there, a man with almost 1000 jumps under his belt, didnt know what a Whuffo was... It was one of the funniest things ever! It was best listening to him explain what he thought a Whuffo might be as we had him guessing what it ment.. lol :D:D
