I don't think so. If you wanna make it out alive you typically don't want to kill yourself before getting rescued.

yep, I agree. But I've been hustled pretty hard during some combat E&E training and we sometimes threw the rulebook out. Smart? ah no. But I was young and dumb.:o

Maybe I'm ill-informed, but that sounds goofy.


Makes sense to me, if the water depth is unknown. Or the stuff under the water is unknown. Not all water landings are planned and intentional. :)
