Judge sentences Black child, 10, to three months of probation for peeing in public

The fact that the arrest happened at all was so egregious it led to one cop being fired and another facing disciplinary measures... but prosecutors still forced a conviction by threatening the family with an upgraded charge that would leave the small child with a criminal record for peeing under his parent's car?

What is it with the US Justice system's fixation on never backing down from any fight where their judgement or authority is challenged, no matter whether it serves the cause of justice or runs directly against it?

bruh what. I really hope this is fake. What would have happened if they had taken it to trial? There's no way that a jury would find them guilty, right? He is 10 years old!!

Not everyone can afford a trial. They took a deal that would not leave the child with a record. There is a different set of rules for people with no money.

The kid is black.

It's in Mississippi.

I would be surprised, if it went to trial, if the kid was acquitted.

Ahh yes, the United States of America's superior governance system.
