Better to be called "stupid" than to be shot by someone with an anger management problem.

Are you in fear of being shot then?

Are you in fear of being shot then? Only if he acts like he does here out in public...;)B|

And he's super-smart, so I guess that's a bit like wearing an online bullet-proof vest. ;)

He lives and works in Chicago.

But Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws, he should be perfectly safe.

Ya know, Kallend has regularly said that he's quite comfortable with where he lives (in Chicago), and with things the way they are as far as gun laws. I've never heard whining about crime or anything else like that.

Maybe you guys are projecting about how you'd feel if you lived where he does.

Just as people who talk about Houston being dangerous don't ever answer when I post about not having any problems driving anywhere I feel like, and working with (gasp) homeless here.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Going here you like doesn't necessarily include going anywhere you can in Houston.

I am pretty sure the proff doesn't spend a lot of time in the Austin Area of Chicago after dark.

Just think how it will be if we get 'open carry' passed here in The Lone Star! :)

Chuck

I'm not sure a "Blanket" open carry would be good.

There are still areas that I would have excluded.

BUT, the general principal is what we need across the country.

I have mixed emotions about open carry. In a way, I'd like to know who is and is not carrying. Open carry on the other hand, could give bad guys an advantage. Then too, concealed carry keeps the bad guys guessing. You never know who's getting a mocha latte, de-caf at the 7-11. I know, our new guv is expressing a strong interest in open carry. We'll see how it shakes-out.

I just think it will cause more problems in certain areas.

And those that would be willing to have their weapon taken from them is an issue as well.
