winsor 186 #1 January 27, 2015 I got a kick out of this. Just because something is published by the Scientific Media does not mean it has better reproducibility than does work on Phrenology, N Rays or Phlogiston. I will admit to being partial to vetted work, but have come across published articles that represented a dead end in a research path by virtue of depending on non-conformal matrix operations, treating vectors as scalars and other fundamental oversights. I am suspect of scientific research by anyone but a true skeptic, and consider any results as being tentative as a matter of course. While that can be the case, it's not really what the articles about. It's about the proliferation of fake journals run by con-artists who are merely imitating the scientific media...Do you want to have an ideagasm? CygnusX-1 42 #7 January 28, 2015 Just another case showing the superiority of the American education system. USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! caveat: (I know, strange looking word that some people may not understand its meaning.) I'm deducing that the OP is from the US because that is the country they put in their profile. I don't know about businesses hiring people with resumes padded by crap like this, but every university I know is well aware of the bogus journals and pays no attention to them when hiring faculty except to give negative credit to candidates who list such articles.... winsor 186 #12 January 29, 2015 jclalorAnd I thought I was going to find the best place to park my yacht. On the Chesapeake, Stansbury Yacht Basin is a pretty good choice. Good facilities, walking distance from Martin State Airport ($11 ramp fee, but what the hell). BSBD, Winsor
