Ya know, people who were born in the US and grew up overseas can all identify with someone else who did so. It changes you, and I happen to think it changes you for the better.

But there are some things in which one is always a little "foreign." I am very comfortable speaking well inside someone else's comfort zone; it was natural where I grew up. I'm also not real good at relating in groups -- because all of the social cues are different from those with which I grew up (and because I'm a geek ).

When I was traveling in France in the late 1970's I identified myself as Brazilian more than once. Why? Because there had been a couple of well-publicized hotel-room trashings by Americans not too long before, and because it changed the nature of the conversations I engaged in with the locals. I could get away with it because I spoke French with more of a Brazilian than American accent due to my upbringing.

Does that make me a poseur? Does that make me a fraud? Does that make me a self-hating American? And does it more so than someone who says yes, they have the experience for the job, when really what they have is the capability? Or more so than someone who claims 1000 jumps "but they don't log?"

There's plenty of real stuff to pick on. This is BS. And it's going to look really, really stupid when Ted Cruz runs in a couple of years.

According to Tom Hanks, BHO is going to run for a third term. So I suppose it would be just and fitting for him to run against Ted Cruz.

I am retired so I don't get paid for working with anyone. All my work is volunteer and right now is confined to my church food bank (feeding the poor) and supporting veterans through the Patriot Guard Riders.

I've made some initial contacts for volunteering in new start up drug treatment program. In addition, I would like to start some sort of veteran support group. We have had three suicides in the local area this year. The US ARMY is posting stats indicating about twenty suicides per month for active duty and reserves.

We should be able to keep a veteran support group free from federal dollars. I am not so sure regarding the drug treatment.

Now truthfully, since you are not a Christian you don't know what a Christ-like attitude should be. You are what the Scriptures refer to as an "accuser of the brethren." Translated to mean an agent of the enemy. Don't be offended by that, it is just your nature. You do not have the gift of the Holy Spirit yet. I pray for you from time to time.

Jesus did not have much interest in the Roman government. His purpose was to be the propitiation for sin and to provide atonement for sinners, once and for all.

Jesus did however demonstrate prejudicial anger against the Jewish establishment and their use of the temple.

Now about me bitching about our government, I am very nationalistic, patriotic and fed up with the progressive liberal takeover. It does me no good to bitch about BHO and his crew to people I know. They agree with me. There are no progressive liberals up here in our enclave. That is the main reason we moved here.

When the SHTF comes upon us, I want to be around folks who know how to survive. Your party and associates will be the authoritarian thugs. You can see it coming the way they are treating the WWII vets on Honor Flights to their memorial in Washington DC.

Now truthfully, since you are not a Christian you don't know what a Christ-like attitude should be.

A 2nd grade education (i.e. literacy) and a few hours with a bible can inform anyone of what Christ's attitude was like. No belief in magic required.

One thing I did notice was that Jesus did not spend much time bitching about his "enemies," or cleaning/preparing his weapons for the glorious day he'd get to use said weapons on said enemies.
