Another loss for the religious right

I think it's funny.
Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

I think it's funny.

I do too. A monument that says "I don't believe in something" is pretty ridiculous and only shows what pathetic lengths some will go to to say nothing.

How exactly is this a loss for the religious right?
You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

You have to fantasize that you are being controlled by something magical. Then something like a piece of rock with etchings on it will appear to be fighting your oppressor.

Perhaps if you took a moment and looked at the pictures in the linked article, you'd realize that the monument is focused on the fact the the US is a secular nation. It isn't espousing a belief in nothing, it's espousing a belief in the separation of church and state.

No it's not. It's an "In your Face" monument.

Monuments generally are. That's why people erect them.

I was just in Washington DC. The place is full of "in your face" monuments.

I warn you people, one more post like this sequence and this thread gets moved to Bonfire.

Eye of the beholder, I guess. I actually read what was written on the monument and took it's meaning at face value. On the other hand, if you need to believe that there is a "War on Christianity", then I guess you can use the monument as "evidence".

No more so than the Ten Commandments are.

He's probably talking about the TC being installed on Government Buildings.

Lame argument, really.

You don't like talking about erections?
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Being the exact same argument you're making, you're right, it is lame.

Really?
What is exactly the same argument?

ex·act·ly [ig-zakt-lee]
adverb
1.
in an exact manner; precisely; accurately.
2.
in every respect; just: He will do exactly what he wants.
3.
quite so; that's right.

Your argument that it is an "in your face" monument.

No. All I wrote was that an argument made previously was lame.

>The TC Monument was not put there for the purpose of being inflammatory.

It was put there to be as "in your face" as possible to people who do not believe in the Ten Commandments. (That's why it's out in front.)

I think you have a skewed idea of what their motivations are.
You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
