David Gregory going to jail?

I'm surprised that you and rushmc have become so socialist all of a sudden. Where will it end, do you want taxpayers to pay for your yachts too?

I didn't say anything about funding it. In fact, didn't I earlier write that teachers/admin/staff should be allowed to have access to guns and be trained to use them?

The issue is that "My kids are good enough for this. But yours aren't." It's like Michael Moore's bodyguard getting pinched for declaring a gun in NYC (much like that Marine did in Mexico).

Yep, rich folks can afford private schools, private jets, luxury yachts, all kinds of stuff.

But Gregory derides the NRA for suggesting that the rabble kids should have the same opportunities. That's the problem.

:S:S What is the number 1 job of the POTUS? :S:S

Come on...I know you can noodle that one out.

Section. 2.

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

Since its obvious you don't know, why not just say so instead of trying to deflect ignorance by posting non sequitur gibberish?

Hint, while not written in the Constitution, Obama has stated it is his greatest responsibility.

OK, so you think the US Constitution is gibberish.

Fascinating.

Yeah, like my income is better than yours, therefor I pay a lower tax rate.

Or, I have worked harder so I can send my kids to a private school where they will get a better education.

Take some personal responsibility and if you are too poor to send your kids to an armed school, obviously you should have just worked harder. Poor people are just lazy.

I don't understand where this eqaulity thing comes from in the US all of a sudden.

If I work harder and make more money because of my efforts, why should I be punished for it?

Then obviously you don't have to be worried about school shootings. :S

Now that you put it that way, I guess I don't.

Here’s the difference. Are the rich wealthy out there saying, “I have money, but you should not be able to have it?” No. They aren’t.

BUT – there are some wealthy out there saying, “My kids are in a school protected with armed guards. But no other schools should be allowed to have that option.”

It’s not seeking “equality.” It is seeking “equal treatment.” The whole, “you cannot be trusted with guns/money/etc. but I can” is something I find despicable. It’s not about ensuring “equal results” but rather about the problem of saying that the peasants are not to even think about having guns in schools to protect their kids. That is something reserved for the bourgeois.

For we know that all are created equal, but some are more equal than others.

Taxes are NOT punishment.

Some are. And called things like "sin tax" in order to make it known.

Nonsense. Every "sin tax" is completely optional. If you don't want to pay it, don't buy the product. By purchasing the product, you are agreeing to pay the tax. That's not a punishment; that's a contract.

Really? What if I want the product and I dont want to pay the tax?

As a child i was told what my punishment would be if I engaged in certain activates. If I was caught engaging in those activates I was punished. I guess if you wanted to play semantics you could call that a contract as well. :S

What if I wanted a product and didn't want to pay the price of what the merchant wanted?

Well, I suppose I could steal it, but that actually is breaking the law and punishable.

Nope. A "sin tax" isn't a punishment. You do not have to pay it at all in exactly the same way I don't have to pay for a Ferrari if I don't want to. It doesn't mean I get a free Ferrari, it just means I do without one.

Hmm

You seem to think it is if your tax dollars are used to protect children

You're paying gas taxes in a contractual exchange for you to get gas. What happens with the money afterward is out of your control in exactly the same way as it would be if the gasoline station manager decided to buy a product you didn't approve of.

I don't know about you, but nobody has ever threatened to put me in jail for not buying gas.
