Interesting. Wonder what the risk/reward equation is like for issuing that statement.

Well, actually, it's pretty straight forward I think. It denies the legitimacy and success Al Qaeda had in planning and executing the terrorist attacks.

Such a dilemma for the faithful! Do we claim 9/11 as a great victory for jihad over the Great Satan or do we condemn the attacks as a failure of capitalism and secular freedom or possibly just another despicable act by the jew animals? "STFU, Ahmananothermite!" ....bwaaaaahahahahaha!

A's statements of BS, or AQ's?

The latter scored a big victory and is an active fighter, if without it's leader. The former is barely holding onto power, has to kill his own people to keep it. There's no risk for AQ here. All reward.

AQ are Sunni Muslim extremists. They believe that Shiites (such as the Iranian govt) are not true Muslims at all. In fact, AQ has targeted Shiites in its attacks many times. So Ahmadinjad is considered just another enemy, even if they both hate the USA.
