Indiana college bans the national anthem

I can only imagine what you guys would say if one of our pacifist christians held office and allowed our country to be continually bombarded, raped and pilliaged.

I could only imagine what you say if one of our pacifist christian brethren told you to turn the other cheek as your lives were striped from you.

I imagine it would go somthing like..."fuck you benevolent Christian theocrats! Why should I lose my life because of your cowardly pushover of a God?

It might do, it might not. But since this is a completely different situation, what does it matter?

You may find the pacifism of some christians refreshing but at the end of the day you still consider them to be a bunch of fairy tale driven delusinal fucknut nerotics.

I like how instead of seeing the positives of non or even anti religious folks supporting freedom of religion you're so hung up on old grievances you damn well make sure you find a way to see it as a bad thing!>:(

You guys can piss right the fuck off.

No thank you...

So you're turning down support on behalf of the Mennonites of Indiana? Maybe you should make that control freak fairy tale driven delusional fucknut neurotic?
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Why do they need your support?

What, are you guys gonna start some type of support group and then fight when you call them delusional and they say you're going to hell?

If you atheiest find christianity so virtuous, why don't you join the fun?

I'm sure they don't.

No.

I said nothing at all about whether the Mennonites stance on this particular issue was virtuous, let alone their overall philosophy.

It sounds like someone may be just a little bit insecure about the level of their devotion and choice of denomination.

Well that has nothing to do with what I said about you, and I meant it.

But ya man, you're right...I wish I could just cut myself off from the world like the Amish and not have to deal with your shit.:P:D

Well whatever Jack...Maybe I just mix you up with all the other yahoos here. I haven't really figured out why you're here anyway. As best I can tell, you just want to trip people up on their informalities in an informal forum.

What a challenge, eh bro?:P

Koodos to you...:S

I've always prefered America the Beautiful over The Star Spangled Banner. To me, it sounds prettier.

Those were the 2 songs Congress had to choose from in 1930 or '31. They chose the more martial one, The Star Spangled Banner. In different times, they may have chosen the other.

I don't have a problem with the words of TSSB but I wish the poem had been put to a different tune.

I've had only one opportunity to drive across country, DeLand to Seattle and back. I kept thinking that America the Beautiful was a really easy song to write. This is a beautiful country.
Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done.

Really? It would take you becoming Amish to have to ignore me?

Looks my work here is done.

I prefer "God Bless America" to either of those tunes but I've always been a Flyers fan!

>Political Correctness at work.

More like religion at work. Mennonites have been opposed to war since the Revolutionary War, and are one of the groups given conscientious-objector status to both World War drafts.

Nice to see someone gets it.
And BTW this is the college in my original hometown, and is run by the same church to which my parents belonged, (before they decided it was too liberal, and switched to the Baptist church). My old man was a conscientious-objector in WWII.

What a bunch of fucking pussies

Just wondering. Why does it bother you?
Why does it make them pussies? Seems to me that it is a rather bold move.
Do you oppose those who omit "one nation under God" when reciting the pledge of allegiance?
Do you consider these acts to be unpatriotic?

Personally, i figure it is their college, they can do as they please.
As for my question concerning the pledge. I am an atheist. I don't believe any nation is favored by a deity. Also, the original pledge, written by Francis Bellamy, did not contain the phrase. It is actually a pledge to embrace socialism.

When I first heard the "banning" announcement, I thought about all of the so called political correctness that has been pushed on us for the past few years and then after a little more thought and research, I applaud what the college is doing.

First of all, why play a national anthem before any game? What is the purpose? and for that matter, why a prayer? Pray to a god to help your team? Is prayer that insignificant? Is it really that big of a deal? Why not just start the game, because it is really is just a game and not a big deal.

Here's a nut sack who believes that a god is using athletes to save as many people as possible before the "end time" arrives.:S

I believe that many of these professional Christian athletes are God’s anointed ones being used by Him in these last days to reach as many people as He possibly can before it is too late. Do not deny these professional athletes the chance and opportunity to reach some of the lost that may not be able to be reached in any other way. You are dealing with eternal fate of a person’s soul and nothing is more important than that!cuc:Skoo:Scuc:Skoo:Scuc:Skoo
