This thread is nonsense.

Why bring this into SC on it's day. Really?? If you have a problem with MLK Day why didn't you express it in July or August?

Well, OK....I have a problem with Dec. 21, 2012.
Let's make it a holiday so I don't have to work on the day I die.

How's that?

Sorry that might qualify as a religious holiday, and that eez noot ah loudt.!

But...but...I got it in ahead of time. That should make him happy, eh?
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

It's not.

Now, back to the topic at hand . . .

How is honoring someone an example of what's wrong in government?

ok - you won't acknowledge the basic point (that allowing different rights for 'some' is a problem), then I'll come at it from your direction.

Government should be enforcing the law and restricting their involvement to the bare minimums. "honoring" people is a waste of government time - it's really none of their business getting into subjective items like that.

NEIN!
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

You are missing the whole "Feel Good" section of the politics and using logic instead of your emotions.

OK, I'd support that. The military is going to be pretty annoyed, though; they've got a big thing for medals and awards and whatnot.
