KawiZX900 0 #27 January 8, 2003 around Easter each year in Ohio @ the church i went to as a kid, the society of Bag Pipers would march in w/drums and halt the procession then play Amazing Grace on around 100 or so bag pipes. talk about choking up. very powerful sound Accelerate hard to get them looking, then slam on the fronts and rollright beside the car, hanging the back wheel at eye level for a few seconds. Muenkel 0 #30 January 8, 2003 I'm pretty good with a kazoo (no, not Fred Flintstones friend)Music definitely runs in my family's blood. But I took piano lessons and sucked. I took drum lessons and sucked. The only instrument I can play half way decently is my voice. _________________________________________ Chris
AggieDave 6 #31 January 8, 2003 Harmonica isn't too hard, if you have a solid music base you can pick it up with ease. I guess I've been playing it for 7 years, not real seriously though. The thing to do is to listen to as much harmonica music as you can find, in the style you want to learn to play in. i.e. I like playing Blues/rock so I've listened to a lot of John Popper to try to play in his style. I think I'm doing well along those lines, but you'd have to ask Jtval/Sudsyfist since they were the ones that I was playing with and could probably give you a better opinion. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Beeron 0 #32 January 8, 2003 I started playing piano and organ when I was about 6 years old and started guitar (acoustic and electric) when I was about 12. Have played in several rock bands over the past 12 years or so and been featured on three fully produced CDs. I'm currently jamming with some excellent musicians in a band called "Lemon Engine". We play out 2 or 3 times a month in various venues here in Colorado, so if you're ever in the area, come check it out! B~
Guest #33 January 8, 2003 Last year after a sea-change in my life, I decided to set technology aside as much as possible (burnout from years of eating / sleeping / breathing IT w/plenty of OT), and bought an acoustic guitar. Using eMedia Guitar Method , I have taught myself the basic chords and have learned a few folk songs. The very first song I learned was called "Mattie Groves". It's a rather grim song, but being a relatively simple folk tune, was fairly easy to learn and was a good confidence-builder. I later learned another tune called All For Me Grog , a capstan and halyard shanty, which I doctored for Mad John's Cock Chorus at Lost Prairie, though I wasn't there last year. This year, I aim to go to LP, and play that song there. Since my interest in Buckskinning has finally grown into participation, I have considered branching out to pre-1840 folk instruments, like the banjo, mandolin, penny whistle, etc. I think there's something earnest, simple, and sincere about folk music. It's "Earthy", and speaks to something deep and profound in me."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

sunman 0 #38 January 8, 2003 QuoteWhat I really want to do is learn to play the piano! Don't think that will fit in a Winnie though. Guess I could settle for guitar. Anyone want to teach? I'm pretty proficient at both piano and guitar. Paid my way through college by giving lessons. I just started jumping at RPC too, so maybe after I quit/get fired from my real job and become a full-time sky bum, you can stop by camper with your guitar and I'll learn ya' somethin'. -Sunman

Folks either love it or hate it. At Liverpool N.Y. I remember as a child, 200 MASS Bands on final day starting with 1 Pipe Major doing the 1st bar and the others (in the field/fogged out) start to play and come forth. THe entire town would be under one song. I preffer The Rock Fusion style but, I have alot work ahead of me for that. -Grant_______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/
