need Sabre2 colors

Recommended Posts

I'm lookin to order a new Sabre2 and trying to decide on colors.
All the charts that PD and the various distributors provide
all say that the colors are not meant to represent the real colors.
Yay! So how is one supposed to decide?

Anyone know of any good pics of PD colors?

I'm specifically interested in the blues
Navy, Royal, Turquoise, Light Blue

If you have any good pics of Sabres with these colors
can you send them or post them?

Thanks

Chris

I had this dilemma a couple of years ago and called PD who sent me fabric samples which made it really easy to see which colours went well with each other. Give them a call! :)
Vicki

Are those samples free or you have to pay something? (shipping and handling), just curious

As far as I remember (and this is going back 4 or so years) they were free. I was also sent their catalogue and maybe some pull up cords or stickers.

Vicki

Thanks :)

Check out ftp://ftp.skydivingmovies.com/public/landing and look for SA_Swoop1 through SA_Swoop3. :)

In those WMV movie files you will see me jumping my Sabre2 with a stock Blackberry, Silver, White, Blackberry, Blackberry, Blackberry, White, Silver and Blackberry color scheme.

It's not stock, those are my Stiletto and gear colors, dammit!:P

Steve, I'm going to have to charge you a royalty fee for their use.B|

The disclaimer is there partly because every monitor shows color differently and partly because (at least in Sq1's case ;)) RGB #'s and canopy fabric colors don't always match completely.

The pic in my icon is my canopy - turquoise with a black center cell. Turquoise is a good "match" for electric blue cordura.

Navy is a really dark blue; it doesn't "match" any cordura colors closely. Royal is a good match for the royal blue used by most US manufacturers. Light blue is pretty light; have you seen a light blue PD reserve? It's close to that.

If you're really worried about exact shades, get fabric samples. Your dealer should have them; if not give PD a call or shoot them an email and ask for some.

Kris, you better hit PD up for royalties too.... that's CP9-0001 on their stock list.

Of course it is...they liked my taste in colors too much and mass produced the damn thing.B|

Chris,

Keep in mind also, that even the color swatches may be off just a bit. Color hue can vary a bit from one roll of fabric to the next, especially if the fabric run is from a different batch. Although the difference is usually negligible.

Colours will also change dramatically with exposure to sunlight. I sent my Stiletto in for reline and patches and I almost thought they had used a different colour for the magenta, because it had faded so much. They should pre-fade patch material for faded canopies! (OK, maybe not.)

You know, if you could get all of your friends to call and order the color samples, you could sew your own canopy together out of all the 3"x3" squares...that'd be a cool design.:P

Yeah, then you could get a pair of those "patchwork" freefly pants to match.:P

Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

You can never go wrong with a pink, brown, sky blue and yellow combo. All the coolest jumpers fly these colors.
You want to be cool, don't you??

Must be cool at all costs. Cool people smoke, drink, and use drugs too right?
