Well, I don't know if this is the case for PhillyKev or not, but if you are attracted to a girl because she's a little wild and crazy and that's exciting for you, you gotta know that's going to transcend into all aspects of her personality.

Stick to the nice girls. We're only wild and crazy when it really matters. ;)

You are right, but still, way too many, use the law to get even, when things just don't go the way they planned...;), not because they actually need to "protect" themselves. I think this is the point of concern.

It is fairly easy and more common than you can imagine, that in Massachusetts when a woman no longer wants her hubby, she only has to go to court and request such an order to get him completely out of her life. And I mean they send him out wihtout even packing his things.....:(

If Kev is right, and prooves that he is so, they still will give her the benefit of the doubt. THat is crap, and one more reason to find a bride in Russia....;)

Ughhh....just had to call my boss and tell her would be out and why. That was humiliating. I could have just said I was sick, but I didn't want her hearing anything from someone else before me. I learned my lesson of not going to the police first. Not going to let this screw up my job by making the same mistake again.

Such is life in a society that doesnt want its people to be able to own guns.

I think it's more life in a society that believes all men are abusive assholes and deprives them of due process

So, you feel that this would've been different if he claimed that she came after him with a gun?

Yes, I do.

I have been there, wasn't a gun, but it was just as bad.
It was a shitpot full of lies! And I was "escorted" out.
Bitterness has lasted to the present day.>:(

Wow, I didn't know you dated my ex too. Crazy! She must have a thing for guys named kevin.

How much shit did you loose in the R'ship? I lost a sony digital camera (to the wall - when she threw it against it) and then a newer better sony digital camer I bought to replace the one she broke (it disappeared when I broke up with her). She threatened to call the police and file a report for domestic violence.. when that came out of her mouth I said see-ya! God is your ex's name jessie?

:)

My ex-wife was a thrower. Mostly of kitchen stuff, though, at me. (The tea-pot full of boiling water was the worst).

Fortunately not too much....some luggage and a cell phone. The luggage was dropped off by someone a couple hours before I got served with the PFA. She also owes me several hundred dollars for phone calls to her family that I let her make from my house that she said she'd pay for. And then there's the cost of the lawyer....oh yeah, and my guns......and my trust....and my desire to ever have a relationship again...and my dignity.

Oh yeah I had to take out a loan in my name to get her re-poed car back, i never saw that money again.

Actually was still paying on the loan after we broke up.

Argh!

If it was me, I would seek a counter suit against her for false accusations.
When they come to get your guns have them photograph them exactly where they are. Perhaps you would be advised to have them document thier status - like is there alot of dust on them, is there alot of dust everywhere else - have the guns been obviously moved in the recent past. (I know I watch too much CSI)

Ask your lawyer if all this would make a difference - Ask him if there is any way to get her charged with filing a false report, lying to authorities, malicious (something or other), and if he can - get her to pay the lawyer bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and then get a restraining order on her.

It would only be fair - not vengeful - Fair. I would have done the same in my case, but the lawyer was expensive and I had to find a new place to live, pronto, as well as new furniture to sleep on and eat on and so forth.

Well, the guns are already turned in. The order said "immediately" and I didn't want to screw around and have them break down my door coming after them.

I'm definitely going to file a PFA against her, but waiting to talk to the lawyer first. Not going to bother suing her...she works under the table for cash and doesn't have a bank account or any assets, so that's just a waste of time.

Oh and you should have told the cops that you would only turn in your guns AFTER she turned in hers.

Probably would have been a good idea. But...she doesn't have any, yeah, I know what you're saying, tell them that anyway. But considering she's a convicted felon, she wouldn't have been able to get one "legally" anyway.

PhillyKev,

Sounds like you are doing all the right things, but I would still request a restraining order against her.

Oh and you should have told the cops that you would only turn in your guns AFTER she turned in hers.

Good luck man

Maintain the high road and obey the law. She'll eventually expose herself for the whacko that she is. The legal system is anything but fair, but you have to play the game by their rules.

Time wounds all heels.

Take all the evidence you can to make her look like the true psycho she has turned out to be.

Take the high road, it will make you look like a better person to the judge and you will feel better about things in the long run.

Best of luck, I'll keep you in my thoughts and I hope the bitch doesn't harass you anymore. Just ignore her and let the court deal with it.

I completely agree with Skymama. It sucks beyond belief that this happened and I hope she gets hers for what she's done to you, but she was as you said a convicted felon...should be kind of a redlight, warning signal. Sorry this happened... and don't let it jade you to future relationships----if you feel something is "off" with the person then let that be your first sign to get the hell out of dodge.

Yeah...well didn't know that when we started dating. Or when I took her to the range to teach HER how to shoot (big mistake)...considering it's illegal for her to even touch a gun.

Hmmm....come to think of it, she had to sign releases and sign in at the range, I'll make sure to tell my lawyer that as well.
