tsalnukt 1 #1 September 29, 2008 I have to sew a piece of velcro onto PURPLE webbing and I don't have purple thread. Any suggestions on what color might work without looking ridiculous??????

jumper03 0 #6 September 29, 2008 I always default to Olive Drab. But that is probably more of a result of having a tractor-trailer full of it. Scars remind us that the past is real

Use black. It will blend in just fine and most likely the Velcro is black anyway. Navy Blue is a common color to use with purple webbing also.My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
NickDG 23 #8 September 29, 2008 It's funny how we do it now as early military riggers always used contrasting color thread to easier inspect repairs they'd made over time. When I blew a center cell seam out of BASE canopy in the early days I did the same thing for the same reason as I had to check that repair prior to every jump. You could make the argument for still doing so today but vanity won't allow for ugly repairs and not many modern jumpers actually inspect their gear anyway . . . erdnarob 1 #10 October 2, 2008 I would rather use black thread. By contrast that will make your purple brighter.Learn from others mistakes, you will never live long enough to make them all.
