Darius,

you must be partial to him because his awarding winning role in Threesome...:P
You loved it when he grabbed that dude's ass, didn't you Darius?

and since someone else brought in Star Wars into the mix, you could also add Mark Hamill to the list.

I'd say Clooney is the worst one on your list.

Who cares if he's not the best actor, Clooney is damn sexy and the top of my list of who I'd be a sex slave for.

Well, now you have something to talk to the wife about.. :)

Where else do you get to take lousy actors and let them improve over 2 or 3 films in a row in order to become just bad actors? And still make Million$ I think it's a great concept.

Worked for Mark Hamill - he's leveraged that into doing voices on cartoons and a couple of really crappy movies. But the kid playing Anakin? I don't think he'll even get that far.

Random barb - Carrie Fisher is/was hideous. And listening to her voice is painful also. Nice choice there Mr. Lucas

There are so many one-trick ponies in the entertainment industry, that it's difficult to nail it down to one choice out of several from only one person's perspective. Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller seem the same to me in every movie they work on. I used to say the same about Jim Carrey until Kauffman and Gondry pulled him out of his comfort zone and made him ACT. However, it all goes to show that in every job, there are people who can get paid to be mediocre at what they do.

Definately Nicholas Cage. I shall only give you one example...but believe you me...there are dozens of examples.

Check out 8mm. Check out the scene where he's watching the snuff film. Watch him avert his eyes and watch him FAIL at being shocked.

Seriously...this dude sucks in so many ways. It's painful.

Nick Cage makes me want to throw a brick at the TV every time I hear his "Alabama" accent in Con Air.

It's SO bad, SO really truly awful, a mongolian shepherd with zero working knowledge of the English language could convince me he's FROM Alabama next to Cage's interpretation...

That's why actors and pro athletes piss me off when they don't "show up". I can miss free-throws and pop-flys and wide-open passes for millions of dollars too, and you can be damned sure I won't complain about dressing professionally.

I can also emote vaguely and deliver lines with the passion of driftwood for several million. And I won't even get upset at having my picture taken or if someone lets a red M&M in with my specifically requested bowl of green M&M's.

Anyone hiring? :)

Of course!! But do you want "acting" as these bad actors call it, or do you want "faking it"? 'Cause "faking it" is a whole lot more convincing than "acting"...

Nicely put.

Real comics (not idiots like whoopi, but actual funny people) like Jim Carrey and Robin Williams have shown up as excellent actors. I'd like to see Jim do a couple more 'completely' without the ham to see just how much his imagination can fuel a performance. Frankly, Robin Williams is one of my favorite actors in any genre.

Have you seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? I thought that was Jim Carreys best role ever. Great, great movie.

That's exactly what we were referring to when we mentioned Gondry (director of "Sunshine") and Kauffman (writer of "Sunshine"). They really brought out the best in Jim Carrey and allowed him to show a dimension few knew he had.

Has any one mentioned Gary and Jake Busey yet? Perhaps the worst father/son acting tandem ever. Although Gary is just bad enough to be mildly entertaining in certain roles, Jake is horrible (with the exception of the Frightners, but that has more to do with Jacksons directing than any residual talent)

No way, Charlie Kauffman wrote Sunshine? I had no idea. I love all of his stuff and I like sunshine even better knowing it was him. When you wrote about kauffman forcing Carrey to act,I thought you meant Andy Kaufman as in his Man on The Moon role. I'm going to have to buy sunshine now, I already own Adaptation, Dangerous Mind, Being John Malkovich and Human Nature. Damn that Kuafman guy is a genius.

Other one to add to the list - Paul Walker from Too Fast, Too Furious.

Paul Walker is awesome. I think he's a great actor, but even if he couldn't act, he's fuckin hot!!
