AggieDave 6 #1 January 17, 2003 Attention, all those DFW folks who I have converted to Freebirds addicts, there will be one opening in April around Lower Greenville... We now return you to your regularly scheduled post-whoring.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
skymama 35 #2 January 17, 2003 I thought this had something to do with dz.com's freebird! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
AggieDave 6 #3 January 17, 2003 No, Freebirds, home of the best damn burrito EVER! There's 3 in College Station, one in Houston and one in austin. Every time I go to ANY of them there's always a big line. Hmmmm...burrito. Its a good thing that I just came back from eating there or I might have to go get one now. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." homer 0 #4 January 17, 2003 When I'm in Houston at the end of april someone will have to take me there. Do they make them with lingua (sp?) CSA #699 Muff #3804
AggieDave 6 #5 January 17, 2003 I'm not sure. http://www.freebirds.com They have a menu on that site, they have a *lot* of different stuff for the burritos, though. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

dave610 0 #7 January 17, 2003 Now I'm hungry...with a decision to make...drive all the way accross Houston at 5:00 or go visit College Station? I miss being 45 minutes from there.
Slowfaller 0 #8 January 17, 2003 This post has inspired me to have a Burrito for lunch and it was damn good, thanks Dave! Chris --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM

First of all, it's not a burrito, it's a Wrap! Second, when are they gonna open one in Wisconsin, damnit! I miss being over-the-road. We had a terminal by the port in Houston, and I ended up there at least once every 2 or 3 weeks. Each one of these stops was accompanied by a trip to Freebirds! Cajun Super Monster, Chicken and beef, no rice, roasted garlic, lotsa fixins, and a crap load of habanero sauce! Gee, thanks Dave, now I'm drooling! It's your life, live it! HeatherB 0 #11 February 6, 2006 I'm reviving this ancient thread to say the following: Freebirds sucks! Moe's is WAY better than Freebirds. Thankfully, we found a Moe's in Plano (DFW area) so we can satisfy our burrito cravings every one in a while. We went to Freebirds to see what all the fuss is about....I'd give it maybe a 5 or 6 on a scale of 1-10.
AggieDave 6 #12 February 6, 2006 I'm sorryto hear that your taste buds are so warped that you don't like Freebirds.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
HeatherB 0 #13 February 6, 2006 Have you been to Moe's?
AggieDave 6 #14 February 6, 2006 Nope, haven't been to Plano in a good while. On the flip side, another Freebirds is being built in College Station, so I'll be able to grab a burrito easier. Its closer to the DZ and easier to get to. Yeah for us.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
PhreeZone 15 #15 February 6, 2006 Plano... my home away from home. I'll be in Plano next week and again in March. I was disappointed with Freebirds also when I tried it . Even though Chipotle is a larger chain I personally find their food a lot better and a much nicer atmosphere then the Freebirds in Dallas I ate at with Kris.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
AggieDave 6 #16 February 6, 2006 I found the exact opposite with Chipotle. That's why there's different places to eat, if we all liked the same thing it would be boring.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." HeatherB 0 #17 February 6, 2006 You are missing out big-time. Try Moe's and then compare! There's one in Austin but I have no idea how far you are from Austin. I have learned that Texas is freakin' huge. Damn...now I want a burrito.
GTAVercetti 0 #18 February 6, 2006 Not too big on Freebirds. They are decent, but nothing spectacular. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
warpedskydiver 0 #19 February 6, 2006 Damn it must be more like the mexican food it chicago then...the last time I had mexican in texas it sucked and that's sad.
HeatherB 0 #20 February 6, 2006 Give Ron & I a call if you wanna hang out while you're here! We'll take ya to Moe's if you haven't been there before. PS: Jerm is trying to get me to fly to NY to go skiing/snowboarding too. He said something about you being there as well.
AggieDave 6 #21 February 6, 2006 Quote Damn it must be more like the mexican food it chicago then...the last time I had mexican in texas it sucked and that's sad. The good mexican food places I know of, you have to know a little bit of spanish to eat there. Its better then the mexican food I had when I was in mexico. HeatherB: As for austin, I'm about 90 minutes from there. Plano is about 3 hours north, I'm about 3 hours from San Antonio and about an hour from Houston...well, about 12 hours from El Paso. You can drive for 24 hours and still be in the state (without going in circles).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Ron 7 #22 February 6, 2006 QuoteI'm sorryto hear that your taste buds are so warped that you don't like Freebirds. Go try Moes...Much better. I'd rank them: 1.Moes (by a long shot) 2.Freebirds 3.Chipolte Moes is also cheaper and they give you free chips unlike the other two. PhreeZone 15 #23 February 6, 2006 Good luck on the Skiing in NY lately... weather has been way too warm for snow making and the natural stuff just isn't happening. But I'll be in NY next week too My hotel was going to be in Addison right down the road from Freebirds there but I could'nt have that so I'm in Plano again. Fly in Tuesday night, out Thursday night. NY Friday night Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
PhreeZone 15 #24 February 6, 2006 Damn it Ron... now both of you have made me hungry. I may need to go get me a burrito here in a bit.
