The perfect advertisement is a hot naked chick spreading her legs with her hand down on her kitti spreading it's lips saying "Buy Coke". There seems to be an element of that in most maketing nowadays whether it is porno or dish soap... As far as desperation goes, that would be the desperation of anyone in business. So they choose something with a "knee-jerk" (or other) reaction to sell their products, which probably suck otherwise.
