Addicted to NPR

Hi, my name is Liz and I'm addicted to NPR.org. I just can't stop listening. It's the only thing that drains out the obnoxious twit at the next cubicle over who is always on the phone with one of her 500 cousins.

Anyone else addicted to NPR?

Absolutely addicted to NPR, but not for the songs.

I get all jittery whenever I miss Fresh Air, and I can't wake up without Morning Edition.

Last year some time Terry Gross had Sarah Vowel on, and that was about the sexiest hour of radio ever produced.

npr rocks, expecially when you ar ein the middleof nowhere and all you can get is am. on my drive back from texas i listened to a show titles " life in these united states" or something like that, was pretty good.. and not sure if it's on npr but "coast to coast america" always makes me laugh with the crazy stories people call in with....

I love SNL's old spoofs of NPR. Funny shit. I listen to NPR on occasion, some of it is good, but I get tired of having to wade through all the liberal crap. For example, during all the coverage of the protests about immigration protests, NOT ONCE did I hear a reporter refer to someone as an "illegal immigrant." They were always "guest workers" or "undocumented workers" and the like. Fuckin verbal engineering. Can't call a spade a spade. Drives me nuts.

(Hmmm... wondering if this started the official countdown to the move to SC.... )

Yep. They ought to change the name of the show "Democracy Now" to "Socialism Now". That is some amazingly biased stuff, and is what gets people up in arms about using public funding to produce that kind of crap.

christ on crutches, get your panties out of a wad. john said he likes 75% of their stuff. and I happen to like some of it too. it's the ONLY place on the radio where I live to hear classical music, which we firmly believe in exposing our kids to. (yes I DO listen to MUSIC so just settle down a little). however, part and parcel of NPR is their liberal bias in presenting the news... it's not called "All Things Distorted" for a reason.

It's my first button on the car radio, and what wakes me up in the morning. It shares with the classical music station here, so if the classical music gets too modern (I have an odd preference for discernable melody and rhythm) I go find something else.
