New Jersey Teen Accidentally Kills Mother During Driving Lesson
Monday, August 07, 2006

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Police in Gloucester County's Franklin Township said Monday there will be no underage-driving charges for a 15-year-old girl who accidentally ran over her mother during a driving lesson, killing her.

Because the accident took place on private property, police said there will be no prosecution.

Police said the girl's mother — 39-year-old Tina Rowe — was teaching her how to parallel park at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday when the girl backed the car over her.

It's believed the girl may have hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

Rowe was pinned under the 1997 Chevy Cavalier. Emergency crews arrived to get the car off her, but Rowe was pronounced dead at the scene.

What about life insurance???

The worst people in the world to teach driving are the parents. Think back to when you were learning to drive. Didn't the parents add another layer of stress?

Depends on where your parents learned to drive really...

I was learning bootlegs and J turns before i had my license..
which got me out of all sorts of (parental at least) trouble later on..

"hes YOUR son, YOU taught him to drive!" :D:D:D

that poor girl has to go through life knowing that she killed her mother, I fail to see the humour in that:|
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)
