Nightingale 0 #5 August 17, 2006 I have watched a friend go through dialysis and his second kidney transplant. If there are any questions I can answer for you from what he's told me, I will, or I can see if he'd be willing to talk to you.
mnealtx 0 #6 August 17, 2006 My oldest Sis and older bro both have cysteinurea... Sis has had multiple transplant kidneys - bro found out early enough to keep it (mostly) under control via diet and such. I don't know if I can offer any info, but I can pass any questions on to the oldest sis, if you need "been there done that" type of info...Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. Michele 1 #7 August 17, 2006 THanks, everyone. This is such a great place - put up a plea, and get tons of help really quickly. Thanks, and you all rock. We don't know what's going on, just yet. It's not me, I promise. We've got some more tests scheduled for Friday, and also for Monday, and we should know more then. At least, by then, I'll have some modicum of understanding and be able to understand some stuff a bit better... Thanks again. I really appreciate it. Michele 1 #10 August 18, 2006 QuoteI just want to inform you that he/she has been added to my prayer list and that I love you very much. And I needed to hear that, Triple F. You're a dear one, and I very much appreciate the prayers. The only thing I know right now is it's going to get tougher before it gets easier, but with friends and prayers, we'll make it through. Bart'sDaddy, when the time comes to get first hand info, I promise I'll pm you. I promise. Thanks so much for the offer. Michele, Am I reading this statement correctly? You have more info and there is hope at the end of the rainbow? Michele 1 #12 August 18, 2006 We're not sure of anything right now; tomorrow morning there will be tests, and next week there will be tests. So until we know, I can't predict the path this will take...but I am holding out hope for the easier part, you know? Deuce 1 #15 August 18, 2006 Hey, Michele, I've done a Rosary for your dad. Prayer seems to help, even if it means that strangers care. Hail Mary, full of grace..... Heart.
Michele 1 #16 August 18, 2006 Heart, Deuce. Thanks. Yes, it does indeed help...no doubt. And GunnaJump, thanks for your thoughts, too. I hate this waiting and testing. Michele 1 #17 August 28, 2006 The test results are in. Some strange, "bad" protein in the urine, low kidney functions, but no strange "bad" protein in the blood. He is refusing to see a specialist (at my urging), and his Dr. told him to "not worry about it." Well, "bad protein" being found is something I'M worried about, but I can't force him to see the specialist. I've asked several times, and he's decidedly against it. Says his Dr. is straight and honest, and that he trusts his Dr. very much. So...that's the way it is. And of course I'm worried. I don't like the sounds of "bad protein"...but I can't do anything about it. He said he'd see a specialist if his Dr (who, btw, is a hematologist) says to, and gives him a referral. Until then, no amount of bullying or cajoling will change his mind. Sigh. Thanks for all the pm's, phone calls, help, research, and support. You guys are really something else. I appreciate it more than you know. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
