shropshire 0 #1 August 31, 2006 Airfix (the bestist modeling company since 1949) has gone into liquidation (like its parent company, Humbrol). skydemon2 0 #3 September 1, 2006 They only want to sniff the glue anyways, so screw the model and just give them the glue!!Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone! I like to start my day off with a little Ray of Soulshine™!!

squirrel 0 #5 September 1, 2006 i would suspect maybe a lack of sales due to kids dumbing themselves down in front of a stupid video game. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
normiss 622 #6 September 1, 2006 catch him again skymama??? kids cannot sniff glue these days...they don't make glue worth sniffing!!!amazing as kids how many hours we spent behind closed doors with no ventilation building our models...no clue about fumes in those days... I'm sure it had no ill effects on us...

You know, skymama, recently there has been an upswing in your pragmatism. You just tell it like it is. Whether it's the suggestion that kids will replace building model planes with searching for internet porn or the blunt statement that a fellow poster's "scrotum is quite nice," it's refreshing to see such straightforward, cut the crap statements. When can I expect to reach such a profound level of forthrightness? My wife is hotter than your wife.
JohnMitchell 14 #9 September 1, 2006 What a shame. There's still Revell and Monogram, but I think not too many kids are into that stuff anymore. My son and I still build a model or two in the winter when there's no outside stuff to do. I sure spent a lot of childhood housr building some great model airplanes. I like that slow gratification stuff sometimes. I never really got into the model planes, but I spent many happy hours assembling and launching Estes rockets. It's just so cool to be able to build something that launches and flies and uses parachutes. Finishing a model plane was always sort of a letdown, but with rockets the fun is just starting. Oh, and you can make explosives from the rocket propellant.
