chanti 0 #26 September 18, 2006 Hi Bev I hope your friend is doing OK. It sucks that we have to be afraid whenever we leave our driveway, the office, the shopping mall, especially when we're female and driving around alone at night. I've tried to leave SA twice but my roots are here -Chanti-

It's not my scenario anyway, but if it were, I'd be outta there. -But that's just me.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Squeak 17 #29 September 18, 2006 QuoteBeen working on that for the past few months actually. Need to find a job for my visa application. Beverly 1 #30 September 18, 2006 Quote Does this stuff happen in most parts pf SA or just on the wrong side of town? Big/small cities and rural area's? It was 8 am on a Thursday morning. She works in an office park with a boomed entrance with security guards. She parked outside her office. They were already waiting for her. It happens everywhere, all day, all night, anytime. Erroll 75 #31 September 18, 2006 QuoteI am glad the guys are dead and they cannot harm anyone else. I am sure the victims will get off on a self defense charge - our minister of defense actually praised a guy the other day for stopping a crime and shooting someone. The really sad thing is that if the hijackers had been wounded they would have been taken to the Milpark or Sandton clinic, getting the best medical care available, while if your friend's husband had been wounded he would probably have ended up on a matress on the floor of Jo'burg Gen. Glad your friends are ok.
Beverly 1 #32 September 18, 2006 Quote Her husband saw it happening and chased after the hijackers with his brother and shot them both dead. I was mistaken, they are not dead. In hospital with multiple gun wounds, but they will live. Humph, now there is a court case and she needs to identify them in a line up and testify, so they can get jail terms. And then the jails are too full and they get out early and do it again! I think true friendship is under-rated Twitter: @Dreamskygirlsa

Darius11 12 #36 September 18, 2006 Sorry your friend had to go threw this, and I agree with others. The husband and the brother did the right thing saved his wife from death and god knows what else. Beverly 1 #37 September 18, 2006 Thanks. I saw her today to see for myself if she was as ok as she kept saying. They should be ok, but this is life changing for them all. She said that it brought her and her hubby even closer as a couple. She is also not going to concentrate on work so much and wants to spend more time with her family and friends - that means me!! So something good came out of it!! I think true friendship is under-rated Twitter: @Dreamskygirlsa

jsaxton 0 #39 September 18, 2006 Quote***Granted the wife was held at gun point but her attackers ran away and were shot while doing so. Was the friend shot before the attackers were murdered? I'm sure that you meant "died while in the act of commiting a crime" instead of "murdered"
