What Are You Afraid Of?

Recommended Posts

Someone asked me that yesterday and the only thing that came to mind was 'rejection.'

What is the first thing that you thought of when you read the subject?

I guess you would not have liked my pet rattler..... STRIKE;)

He was a Pacific Emerald DiamondBack I caught in Oregon.

I dont think I have any phobias.... I got over most of theose long ago... I used to be afraid of heights.. but climbing ans skydiving took care of that.

Getting old. After losing my grandmother earlier this year (she was 93) it hit home and i can't decide whether i'd like my mind to sharp will the end and have my body just give up. Or the other way around. She was lucid right to the end but couldn't walk much and stuff. Yup, i'm scared of getting old and helpless. [:/]

Crowds, Spiders and Balloons.:|

I suppose a guy wouldn't earn any brownie points if he brought you a balloon bouquet, would he? :D

I worked in retail where I blew up balloons a lot...I had many a balloon blow up in my face...I'm not afraid of the mylar ones, it's the stupid latex ones...I can't even stand the sound of one. I cringe and then I just have to get up and leave the room.

Just the webs? What about the spider? I am petrified of spiders![:/]

Just spiders? I'm profoundly phobic of ALL bugs.

All bugs give me the willies, but I'm only really phobic of spiders. B|

Well, I'm also afraid of heights, sharks, and seaweed, but those are clearly not bugs. :P

Yeah, getting old is not for sissies. My Dad spent ten years in an Alzheimers unit in a nursing home. At the end he was in diapers and couldn't figure out how to work a doorknob, but his body was fully functional.

I'd think it would be torture for my body not to work, be totally dependent on others to tend to basic bodily functions, and realize what was going on. My Mom went that way. She had a stroke and spent two days on the floor before she was found. Fortunately, she didn't linger...

Both options suck. I visited the Alzheimers unit a lot. Those people aren't happy even though they are clueless about most things.

It's a good thing it's not up to me to decide. I couldn't choose.
