tsalnukt 1 #1 April 14, 2007 When do you draw the line and say "it's just too damn cold and it's taking away from the fun?" It's 37 degrees on the ground, the landing are is flooded and where it's not flooded is deep slushy snow. There's Tandems that are coming the want to jump (crazy). There's no good place to land that the gear isn't gonna get soaked. What do other people think. Would you jump?

matt1215 0 #8 April 14, 2007 I think I'd draw the line in the 20's or teens, but I'd be well bundled-up I'd definitely think twice about jumping twice into a field of slushy snow .

Gawain 0 #13 April 14, 2007 I probably wouldn't jump, just because of the landing area. As for the temperature...you won't really feel the cold until you land.... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! D_22359 0 #14 April 14, 2007 Or you could jump beacuse of the landing area...Think of it as a swoop pond with padding. Its not cold till it's -anything. Blue's Bill

smooth 0 #16 April 14, 2007 There's an old saying: If the temperature is below your age then don't jump. As you get older you'll appreciate this! As others have said though it seems more of a problem with the landing area than the temperature.
karenmeal 0 #17 April 14, 2007 Once it gets into negative degrees celsius at altitude, I know that it's generally going to be so cold that even with my good gloves my fingers will go numb in freefall.
