There was a discussion about this in the BASE Zone a few months ago. by the presence of a reserve handle the dude is actually wearing skydiving gear

I couple things I see that may or may not be indicators that it's not real.
1: At the bottom of the photo is the roof of a building that appears to be no more than 100-150 feet below the jumper. That could spell trouble if the photo is real.
2: His clothing and skin look like they are in a high velocity windstream, i.e. already been in freefall a while.

Just tossing some guesses/observations out there.

It looks more like the roof ledge he just jumped from and not a roof top below.

I'd like to know is the dude skydiving, BASE jumping or going through the park on his roller blades. I dunno bout y'all but I've not seen elbow and knee pads needed for 2 of the activities I just brought up. Rollerblading would be the only activity remotely needing elbow & knee pads.

During urban jumps many BASE jumpers wear full motorcycle body armor. including elbow and knee pads.

the picture is 99% not a BASE jump. it may not even be a skydive.

A lot of BASE jumpers wear protective gear... heck I even wear a motorcycle back protector along with knee pads....
