When you're outside, your legs are running not only to maintain your balance, but to propel you forward, since there's nothing else (treadmill belt) doing it for you. They say that a treadmill is about 7/10ths the workout per mile that a run outside is. And if you run early and stay hydrated, you can run in Florida.
