Can anyone give me a app cost of all equipment need for someone, after training to purchase to continue with the sport and it does not have to be the top of the line but be good equipment.

If you feel the need to ask, quit jumping or get a second job. Once you buy it, it is a good idea to maintain it. And riggers charge outrageous prices for little or no work. We all know that.

Plan on spending ~$4000 for all your gear. If you have money left over, then just jump more.

I spent $700 for the last used rig (Javelin) + reserve (Raven) I bought (February 2005) and $40 for the last used altimeter (Altimaster-2, a couple years ago). The last main I sold went for $300 (Batwing, a couple years ago. The price is only a little on the low end for ZP squares pre-dating the move to tapered shapes). I doubt prices have gone up much.

Protecs are cheap but not fashionable.

I have a duffle bag which would fit my biggest rig (Javelin J7 built for student sized canopies). The smaller rigs (Reflex R335s, built for 150 main + reserves) fit into all of my carryons sized to the maximum allowed by the airline. Bags with rollers are NICE. Net cost $0. Don't skip the bag - you do NOT want your rig exposed to battery acid in the trunk, sunlight, spilled beer....

Getting jumping for less than $1000 might be difficult, $2000 is not unreasonable with a Cypres and custom jump suit, and you could hit $20K at the high end (three rigs is a useful number).

Spending money on jumps and training will do more for your skydiving than paying more for gear.
