JohnMitchell 14 #28 April 8, 2008 Make a cardboard template of the mirror's shape. Take it to a glass shop and have them cut you out a new mirror. Buy a tube of mirror glue. I have an old tube of it, if you want to drop by. I don't remember if I bought it at the glass store or the auto parts store, however. Anyway, glue the new mirror onto the old frame. Worked on our minivan.

DavidB 0 #33 April 9, 2008 Quote Quote If you'd been using that mirror for a proper merge, you'd know who hit you. That is true - and you don't go to the "Recycling" center, you go to the glass compacy, they will cut you a new mirror and you "glue" it in with RTV. (What the hell is "RTV"? What I mean is silicon.) What I would have suggested. Two things, though: 1- "Mirror mastic" is used to attach mirrors, not silicone (which can attack the backing). 2- RTV means Room Temperature Volcanizing. That means it cures at room temp as opposed to being baked.
