BillyVance 34 #1 April 23, 2008 Guess the U.S. Mint will be going into overtime making bales of this bill. BIGUN 1,231 #2 April 23, 2008 AP: The new gas $5,00 bill has been scrapped by the US Mint as they consider issuing a gas $6.00 bill. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
shropshire 0 #3 April 23, 2008 Wouldn't buy very much fuel over here... I just paid £1.30 a litre; that's £5.90 or $11.62 for a British Gallon of Diesel (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome
skydiver30960 0 #4 April 23, 2008 We know, we know, you dang furriners throw this at us 'mericans every (and I do mean EVERY) time we get to bitching about gas prices. The difference is: in Europe, from where you are standing, you can throw a brick and hit half a dozen other countries. Everything you could possibly need is a reasonable walk from your flat. Here, I have to drive an hour each way just to get to WORK. Never mind how far I have to go to do anything fun. Give us a few hundred more years, the US will be as tightly packed as Europe, and we won't be bitching about the price of gas anymore. relevant smileys: and Elvisio "that is all" Rodriguez

happythoughts 0 #14 April 23, 2008 In 1975, entry-level construction labor paid $6 an hour. I made $9 an hour as a rodbuster. I paid 50 cents a gallon for the highest octane gas for my sports car. It cost $5 to fill the 10 gallon tank. Gas is now over 7 times as expensive. Income is still the same for a lot of people.
