iluvtofly 0 #1 August 26, 2008 So my iPod just started acting up. It shows that it's playing the music but nothing comes out of the headphones. I've tried several different pairs so I know it's not an issue with the headphones. Also, when it's hooked up to the FM transmitter in my car it doesn't put out any sound. However, when I hook it up to my computer it'll play through there just fine. Any suggestions or am I screwed?

iluvtofly 0 #15 August 26, 2008 In the car that's not a problem. The thing is that I use it when working out. Something about working out without music makes it really boring and I'm less inclined to workout.
iluvtofly 0 #16 August 26, 2008 QuoteHow old is your iPod? Less than a year. It's one of those new iPod Classics with 30 gigs. I have an old iPod nano that still works. I had just bought this one because I ran out of room on my old one. Too many songs.
SmoothAl 0 #17 August 26, 2008 Then he should download some podcasts of his favorite radio shows to his IPod....oops. Nevermind. SA
tigra 0 #18 August 26, 2008 Make some playlists, use your nano for now and when you get a chance, go to an apple store and see what they say. Usually when my iPod acts up, I have to let the battery complete drain and its all good when I turn it back on. I've never been able to get any useful info from them online but so far that's worked every time. Never had the issue you are having though.
Nightingale 0 #19 August 26, 2008 There is a mute. When it starts playing a song, use your click wheel and scroll clockwise, which should turn the volume back up.

(Or maybe you just don't have an iPod YET.....) There are very few modern devices I would have a hard time living without, but my iPod is one of them. I'm not proud of it, but I have gotten very used to having my music with me at all times!
iluvtofly 0 #21 August 26, 2008 I've tried that with no luck. I'm going to try the whole draining the battery thing next.
Nightingale 0 #22 August 26, 2008 Just take it to the apple store. It's probably something simple.
iluvtofly 0 #23 August 26, 2008 Unfortunately there are no Apple stores near me. I bought it online.
Nightingale 0 #24 August 26, 2008 If it's less than a year old, it may still be under warranty. Call apple and find out.
