AggieDave 6 #1 November 5, 2008 http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/11/05/print/main4575403.shtml That's too bad, I really enjoyed his books. Too bad the movies they made from those books weren't all that great.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." pyrodude 0 #2 November 5, 2008 Too damn bad. I loved his books. The Great Train Robbery was unheralded, but a really good read. I think Timeline was one of my favorites.

riddler 0 #12 November 6, 2008 I've read a number of his books - they were all researched extremely well, I thought, and pieced together masterfully. I thought timeline was kinda lame, but I did like Eaters of the Dead, Airframe, Rising Sun and Congo. Jurassic Park showed how a good book can sometimes become a good movie. Best book that became the worst movie - Congo. I never watch TV, but I made an effort to watch one episode of ER after I heard he created it, and I thought it wasn't that bad, for television. All in all, one of my favorite modern authors.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
DougH 270 #13 November 6, 2008 RIP. I loved his books, grew up reading them up in this old tree in the backyard. Awesome writer! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
PhreeZone 15 #14 November 7, 2008 I'm looking at my bookcase and I have about every book in hard back and some of them in paperback also. I received Jurassic Park as a gift when I was 14 and it has so many creases and worn print that its amazing it is still in one piece, I have read it probably 2 dozen times and its been across the country in my backpack at least 4-5 times by now.
