The problem is this, if your state shares points with Florida, then beware, Florida likes to heap them on. I was facing 73 in a 55, and FOUR points...I was NOT going to let that happen!! One other time, an Okeechobee County Sheriff pulled me over...big fat guy with a nail in his tire and equally arrogant... Mind you, this was 10 years ago. skittles_of_SDC 0 #27 December 11, 2008 Here in IL a lot of the the highways have a speed limit of 55. 55+20=75 55+30=85 (not 100). Around here 75-80 seems to be the normal flow of traffic. Virginia and Washington DC are the only places in the United States that currently ban radar detectors. Radar detector use in commercial vehicles has been prohibited in the U.S. since 1995 and radar detectors are also illegal in most Canadian provinces. I don't have the need for 1, as I no longer drive like I used to; hell, I don't remember the last time I was pulled over.......oh yeah I do.....I was on my way to a party at the dz last year. I can't believe he pulled me over for going 10 over, on a rural empty road...
