DBCOOPER 1 #1 April 18, 2005 How are the landings on a Spectre loaded about 1.3?Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
katzurki 0 #3 April 18, 2005 I once had one toggle stuck (it wouldn't unstow, but I still could pull on it) on a Spectre loaded at 1.25, so it was a straight-in approach in 1/2 brakes. Stand-up! Great flare power the thing has.
EricaH 0 #4 April 18, 2005 I'm at bout a 1.38 on a Spectre & it is lovely, lovely, lovely!! There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. PMS #227 (just like the TV show)
DBCOOPER 1 #5 April 18, 2005 And then 1.5Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
AirtecKai 0 #6 April 18, 2005 I jump a Spectre since 7 years and can offer 1,6 at the moment . It works very well with some experience, but requires attention. The max weight should not be exeeded, it's really the max weight. 1,4 - 1,5 is a nice WL for someone who want's it sporty with a Spectre. More is less. Cheers, Kai
DBCOOPER 1 #7 April 18, 2005 Perhaps I should re-phrase the question. How do Spectres land at a high density altitude, say maybe 5k and no wind at those wing loadings.Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. kosanke 0 #8 April 19, 2005 i have a spectre 150 and stiletto 150 loaded at 1.33. each year i go from monterey at sea level to lost prairie at 5k. good landings can be had by both but the spectre will need to be given a more powerful and quicker flare. the spectre is a great canopy and does well at altitude. hope this helps. DancingFlame 0 #9 April 19, 2005 Landings are still nice at 1.5. Tried it twice. But I wouldn't say it swoops any better with 1.5 than with 1.4...
Albatross 0 #10 April 19, 2005 My experience was that the performance dropped off quite quickly above 1.5 or so. While I know a few people who load them higher than that the landings become much more precisie.Chris

Could you tell a couple of words about Spectre's swooping? It seems to me that it has a hard front risers...but actually have onthing to compare... Thanks... P.S. was in aerograd this weekend - rulezzz!:)Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
phoenixlpr 0 #12 April 19, 2005 If I were you I would wait 200+ jumps before start induced speed approaches...
DancingFlame 0 #13 April 19, 2005 QuoteIt seems to me that it has a hard front risers It depends on size. I flew a 135 and riser pressure was not too high. You can swoop any canopy. It's not the canopy, it's the pilot.
