Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Crispi boots fit a little wider than the Hanwags.

I've read the exact opposite on two paraglider forums.

That's weird. My experience owning the Crispi's was that they fit my (wide) foot pretty well. My experience trying on the Hanwags and walking around in them was that they were too narrow for my feet.

Yo,
I voted for hanwags, I had some kickass solomons but when I tried the Hanwags....love.
I pounded in a few weeks ago and I believe the multiple layers of the soles obsorbed a lot of the shock, the support in the ankles is fantastic too. I'm sure if I was wearing my solomons or *gasp* just regular shoes i wouldnt be walking.I escaped with only a fractured L2.
I would check out hanwags on the internet,I got mine from a paragliding instructor for $200 tax included,It Moab there is a huge markup.

I jump with a pair of ice climbing boots from Lasportiva. see them here
They are relatively expensive boots but they have a hard sole so it gives you excellent support and protection
when you come pounding in a rock.
Added bonus they do not have any hooks and they are very light.
These boots are also great hiking boots for those long sketchy approches.
But if you are looking for an all around type of boots to also use on urban jumps there ought to be more appropriate boots out there.
Anyways, just thought I'd add a pair to the list of good boots to chose from.

I tried and now love my FOX Boots.
they are special military boots and have several good points for me:
they are absolutely quiet, really (sometimes you need that)
very good grip on earth, rocks, steel, concrete, glass, ....
waterresistant
no hooks for the laces
black ;-)

Personally, I use my super secret high-speed low drag magic ninja boots! They provide absolutely no protection of the ankle whatsoever, but they're easy to cut off when you break your leg.:D
