The issue is whether it is constitutional to deny non US citizens a trial in civilian court. And even if the Supremes say it's constitutional to have a tribunal, is it the right thing to do when the clearly constitutional civilian alternative exists? How many tax dollars is it worth spending on DWI's? How about speeding? How about the SS Investigation? How about collecting on fraudulently filed tax returns? The question properly stated would be how many tax dollars is it worth spending to eliminate all DWIs or all speeders. Right now we opportunistically catch violators and punish them. Just as we do with voter fraud. 400 cases, but only 28 charges. Doesn't seem like a huge problem when we have voter machine error rates approaching 1%. 28 or 400 voters out of millions is simple noise. And yet, kallend *howls* over even smaller occurrences when it comes to guns. Only you would consider a multiple homicide to be a "smaller occurence". Those taxes are returned in the form of benefits. We benefit from roads and bridges too. And from education, defense... I don't benefit from a lot of federal spending. Yes, I doubt you drive much on roads, nor benefit from ATC services when flying or skydiving. Probably never visited a national park... Who cares HOW MUCH, the fact is that you DO benefit, as do the millionaires who manage to weasel out of paying any federal income tax. ...
