If you are talking about the "dropping" sensation you get when you are on, for example, a rollercoaster, when your stomach seems to lift, that feeling is caused by a negative G force. When you jump from a plane, you are just experiencing 1G, the same as you experience all the time not spent on rollercoasters! Like has been mentioned, you will experience some accelerations, but they are small and generally less than 1G (as gravity is your driving force). But I'm pretty sure that in the US "war on global terrorism" the IRA and ETA aren't even on the list of targeted terrorist groups, even though they are 2 of the most active groups in the world. Why not, you ask? Could it be because the IRA get a vast amount of their funding from the USA?? The US government give money to Sinn Fein, the political wing of the IRA, for their election campaigns. Thats what I thought about the lights - but if I shook that much (which I do!! Not only when I'm scared!!) then why was Jude's face not blurred too? His face was nice and sharp in both photos - thats what I dont understand. I just wish I could control it and get effects like that when I wanted to !! These are 2 photos from July 4 of my girlfriend's son, Jude. They were taken with a standard digital camera, I didn't do anything fancy with it, but I couldn't understand how the results occured. Anyone have any ideas? Unfortunately the pics have lost a lot of sharpness when I had to make them smaller to upload them, but you can still see the fireworks "infront" of Jude, him being quite sharp in the pic but all the people in the background are like tracers......anyone know what was happening here? Hey Zen! Just cleaned my skydive rig - she has now regained her title as the sexiest rig on the planet!!! Woolite in the bath tub for the container works amazingly well, but I had one issue that you won't have to deal with - forgot to take the repack cards out!! DOH! As for lines and canopy - can't help you there! Remember the rig I used at BD? When I returned it, it too was musty - the Doc said it was not problem for him, he does same thing often and with no detriment to the equipment. But that's one opinion. Cheers! I shattered my heel at BD last year - and yesterday was the first time I have put a shoe on that foot since! I've been in a walking cast the last few months, and the real problem is lack of movement from having the foot held in the same position for the best part of 4 months. Plus the infection that set in after the surgery only cleared up last week, so, yeah, breaking a heel SUCKS!! And like the others have said, you stress that area with every step you take, so I also would strongly advise you to get Xrayed, MRI'd etc to find out what damage you have done, otherwise you might be doing more damage every day. Look on the bright side - being on crutches is a great way to build upper body strength, as well as being useful in getting seated in a busy bar!! Hope you get it sorted soon! Hi Don, David Armstrong is a very talented deaf skydiver who subbed in our (now defunct) freefly team last year. He jumps at Waller occasionally, but is more often found at Gladewater or Spaceland (I think!). He is an extremely nice, funny, helpful, generous man who I am fortunate enough to call a friend. Well said! If the thought "will I make it back" even enters your head, you should be looking for an alternate. As this proves, if there is ANY doubt at all about making it back, its not worth the risk. Find the best alternate available, and take your time to get into the right approach pattern for your alternate. And its often fun getting out and meeting the locals!! Yep - that's a cool advert. Had to laugh at the very ammusing sterotyped attempt at a Scottish accent the gum had! Why did they choose a Scottish accent? What are they trying to imply? One late night around the camp fire, I was talking about doing some more round jumps with Doc Steve when he suggested we do a downplane under the rounds! I know this wouldn't really be the same as on squares, but I do like the idea of trying some CReW under rounds. Can anyone give me the benefit of their experiences with round CReW? I once heard a canopy opening at treetop level! Jumped up, saw the students girlfriend running up to me screaming "Take me to him! I want to see him!". Of course, I was thinking "I don't think you want to see what's left of him" and told her that people were on the way to bring him back. I knew that in the direction I heard the noise was mostly open fields. Saw video of what happened. Student (off-duty cop) static line square, slow spin, no line over, but slow spin. After he ignored calls on the radio to check canopy, check canopy, check canopy and did nothing, he was told to prepare for landing. His idea of preparing for landing was chopping at about 600-700ft. Reserve bag came out on RSL, but canopy STAYED IN THE BAG!! He fell for about another 6ish seconds (if I remember correctly, but it was a LONG-ASS TIME!!). Video shows him going past tree-level with no canopy out. What happened was the canopy came out of the bag just in time to snag on the top branches of a thin line of trees going alongside the road!! Took 3 hours to get him out of the trees, and he went straight out on duty! Had no idea how lucky he was........... Hobbes: "How come we play 'War' and not 'Peace'?" Calvin: "Too few role models."

OK gore hunters!! You asked for it!! The attachments are photos from pre- and post-operation for a heel bone (calcaneous - sp?) which ws pancaked and broken into around 20 pieces.
