  1. A friend of mine recently had a cat take a healthy bathroom break all over his Triathlon and was asking me about cleaning and possible damage to the material. due to the age of the canopy he's content to retire it but I was curious as to the possible damage. Thanks Gabe
  2. "And that lesson has been stated a few times." Apparently it needs to be stated a few more times if this is the cause of this death.

  5. I love the matching his and her body armor
  6. Ahh that reminds me of a story an old Army buddy told me one time. He and some guys made a harness out of 550 cord, got some parachutes from some illumination flares and would launch hamsters from the roof of their barracks (3rd floor) with a 3 man slingshot. He said one of the little guys had 21 jumps and unfortunately there were some casualties as well as deserters. All was going well till the pet store owner called their commander wondering why his soldiers were buying all these hamsters. When their CO approached them they were fresh out of hamsters so they had to introduce someones iguana to the wonderful world of BASE. Gabe
  7. Speaking of nice packs try this http://www.golitestore.com/store/NS_proddetail.asp?number=PA5004. You can either roll it up and wear it like a fanny pack or compress it and put it on and throw you jacket or wingsuit on then rig over that. Very comfy and plenty of room.
  8. Last year when SBCMAc and I had to minimalize or gear to fit under wingsuits we went down to: Headlamp for the eventually inevitable hike down Space blanket for unplanned bivy platypus, camelbak which you taped around your calf and put the hose around your waist like a belt radio smallest low profile fanny pack you have and signal mirror I think thats about it. a Satilite phone and first aid kit with ground crew is great but there is a level of commiment to which t you know you can't bring some things along so you plan accordingly. of course this jump was just like 20 min drive on a dirt road followed by 4-5 hr hike with 45min hike out from LZ. Hopefully SBCMAc can throw in some more pointers. Also never dump your remaining water until you know your jumping and always carry enough water those dehydration head aches and bouts nasuea at exit point suck. Oh yeah if it will be a fairly frequent site hike up some supplies and cache them for later use. take care Gabe Left and Up
  9. Hey we all know how unreliable that phone of his is Gabe
  10. Fingers can definitely rip mesh, and mesh can break fingers. On our first Building 698 was PC'ing me and his middle finger (I believe) caught the mesh on my BR 48 and ripped a significant hole in the pc and consequently put a 45+ degree angle is his finger. He immediately set it before the pain had a chance to kick in and then jumped. All went well with some post jump self medication and a later trip to the doc. Thanks again Justin and Blair
  11. Reminds me of a story a buddy was telling about when he was at Bragg. They would use the old parachutes from illumination flare with a makeshift harness of 550 cord and a 3 man slingshot to launch hamsters off the 3 floor roof of the old barracks. He said one of the little critters had 21 jumps before they retired him, and unfortunately they had a few casualties (as to be expected with any military airborne op). He said all went well til one day the pet store owner called their CO wondering why his guys were buying all these hamsters. Apparently when the CO asked they were out of rodents so they had to do a demo with someones iguana. Gabe
  12. Hey don't forget about 698. He broke the tradition well before 700.
  13. Ok have you even met Jason? He in my opinion is a very humble jumper. If you thing he's an ass just because he won't take you to every object out there then you don't understand the work that he Eman, 515, 516, and countless others have invested in the BASE in the Carolinas. I was there for Johns 1st jump off the oblect over near 700's house and afterward he seemes to go off on his on trying to get BASE in a weekend on some technical objects. And I thinl that's were570's concerns come from. John seemed like a great guy from the small time I spent with him and I've heard good things about his dz and some iffy thing about some of his BASE prodigies. Anyways I'm totally hammered right now so my point is.... 570 isn't bashing john just to be bashing john, and he's not bashing john. 570 has done more for base in the carolinas than most of you young'ns will. And if he or some of the older jumpers don't take you out to an object it;s to take care of the object and not your or their ego. Now go out and fucking jump you fucking pansies. PS not respnoslible for this post I'm toooooo drunkkk!!!! Gabe
