  1. It's a program called dashware. There are more details on this thread http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4306528;page=unread#unread Jump more, post less.
  2. My local is Tilstock, Whitchurch, north Shropshire but I do live on the Isle of Man - wish we had a DZ here as it costs me a fortune to travel to the UK every time I want to jump!! Strictly speaking Cark and BK are closer but I just love the Tilstock 'vibe' Yesterdays P3 flight - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXDImuJQ0b8 - easily worth a case of beer :) Jump more, post less.
  3. Updated DSE photo link https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s720x720/523194_215841398532068_100003186293485_376012_672444303_n.jpg Looking good :) I got my P3 jumped today - incredible. Like chalk and cheese with my P2. The cells inflated super fast and very nice and solid, I did what I'd normally do to turn and it responded much faster and there was a much more noticeable bank in the turns. It was awesome fun - if the wind hadn't been honking and I needed to hightail it back to the DZ I'd have been throwing turns in just for fun trying to see how steep a bank I could get :) Lovely. Averaged 56mph which I was very happy with for the first flight on the suit and it took me a little while to get the hang of how it wanted to be flown. There was loads of nice fluffy clouds to so all in all a great jump :) No photos though as it was a solo jump. Can't wait to jump it again!! Jump more, post less.
  4. Cool laser eyes :) The forecast at my 'local' DZ ain't looking good for this weekend :( Jump more, post less.
  5. I'm just a plane jumper, mainly solo stuff so long flights are pretty much the order of the day :) I was jumping mainly my ghost last year and had a go on a V3 and it was a lot of fun - just different, a little bit faster, a little bit better glide. If I'd had time I'd have put more jumps on it and I guess I'd have got a lot more out of it. Then this year I got a nice pay bonus so decided to replace my P2 with a P3, sold my P2 back to the guy I bought it from (and the same guy whose V3 I'd jumped) and thought I'd ask would he 'part-ex' the P2 against his V3. He didn't want to but I'd got it into my head that I'd like a V3 and it was difficult to get it out of my head! I don't expect to jump the V3 much - just when one of my super skinny floaty mates puts his Stealth on. Jump more, post less.
  6. Man - I am seriously impressed with the turn around time on my new Phantom 3. I emailed PF on the 1st of April to see if they could make me a P3 using the same specs they used last year for my Ghost 3. Robi said no problems so I placed the order and got it paid for. Got home today and there waiting for me was my new Phantom 3 - it looks awesome. And on the same day the V3 I'd got second hand turned up too!! Fingers crossed for decent weather this weekend - I've got a fist full of suits to try out :) Obligatory photos !! Jump more, post less.
  7. Thanks - good idea :) One problem with that - my flysight is mounted on the back of my camera box :) I make it harder for myself as I leave some of the run in on my paralog jump profile (which I export as well) so I get the jump run exported. There are two easy ways round this. 1. Delete the run in from the jump profile 2. Alter the paralog export to only export the freefall section of the profile. I prefer the jump run to be there so when I tweaked the paralog export routine I left that data in - it's a matter of a few seconds work to remove it from the export profile. Simply put - if you don't want to see the run in it's very very easy :) And it's not that hard to sync the data in - it's just a question of moving a slider in the dashware software until the gauges looks like you've just exited and then ticking the sync box. 8. I asked for feedback and I appreciate you giving me some :) Just a quick version for you showing the ground speed instead of 3d. It took longer to upload to youtube than it did to change the gauges.. http://youtu.be/xODXPTeETWo Jump more, post less.
  9. Thanks for the questions and feedback :) I know the glide rate is low but I'm pretty sure it's right. I used paralog as the reference point for the data. I picked a point that was easy to spot on the paralog jump profile, I then looked at the figures (on the background data table) for that data point and checked the calculated figures matched up to within a couple of percent. The data comes from my flysight - and I'm usually in the small screen so if you are watching Peter close in from his perspective and expect the figures to change they don't. Does that make a bit more sense?? The video has to be manually synced in with the data so there is a little bit of guess work on where the exit point is. The speed shown is the 3d speed. I picked that as last time I showed the ground speed I was asked to show the airspeed! When I then called it 3d speed I was asked to explain it and when I did it was suggested that I call it the airspeed (I know it's not as there is no correction for wind etc...) It's easy enough though to add another figure in though if you wanted to include it. There are 'tapes' similar to a HUD which could be put on the edges (or middle) of the display etc to show pretty much whatever data you can calculate. There are some funky calculated 'g' meters etc etc and if you wanted you could go totally over the top with gauges to show just about everything - and it's very tempting! Do you want to see another version with just about every gauge you can think of?? Jump more, post less.
  10. I've been playing round with Paralog and Dashware to get the export/import routines working nicely. Paralog was as normal very easy to use but Dashware wouldn't import the glide rate/airspeed etc in. After a discussion with Dashware they explained that Dashware in it's current form will only import the lat/long and elevation but the import facility has maths features allowing you to calculate other information such as glide rate, airspeed etc etc. Once the data import was sorted it worked like a charm allowing me to add a nice little glide rate bar and calculate the Speed. Dashware will be adding a paralog import sometime in the future (but if anyone wants it I can email you the files) There are still some rough edges in the vid that I'm not that happy with (the PIP resize isn't quite square into the middle of the frame) but I've got better things to do with my time than re-key them!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGhF0NR-xAQ The original import took a while to sort the maths etc out but once that was done it became a matter of a few mins work to do it with another video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJxybWGx8jQ Any suggestions on gauges would be nice - I've tried out a 'rev counter' for the glide rate and also a segmented non linear display. But this one does the job :) Jump more, post less.
  11. I was taught to keep my wings closed until I could see the tail of the plane so that particular exit doesn't match up with what I was taught or what I do. But he missed the tail so it's a mute point. Jump more, post less.
  12. Just had a look at the vids on the site - Check out the exit on the puerto rico boogie 2012 (1) video and see how quickly the flyer opens his arm wings. He's opening them right out of the door. Jump more, post less.
  13. He had an ankle mounted one. The one on his chest survived too. A load of twists on opening as well - not a good day... Jump more, post less.
  14. It is a fairly simple equation. The correct number of wingsuits to own is N-1 where 'N' is the amount of suits that will get you kicked out of the house if the girlfriend/wife/partner/significant other finds out how many you have. Of course 'N' can be increased by leaving suits with friends, 'borrowing' a suit ("It's not mine - I've borrowed it from..." and even out right lying "It was a bargain - it only cost $100 and I can sell it for twice that" Jump more, post less.
  15. Why would you want to put it out? Is it on fire? There is a Peter Green track called "Love that burns" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP5IEOYj9MU Perhaps that is what he was singing about??? Jump more, post less.
  16. The legwing and asymetry can already cause linetwist/spinning around of the body. Now imagine this with another added surface.. Or just imagine that it was called a cod piece.... I may not have been taking the thread entirely seriously Jump more, post less.
  17. Rather than looking at fish / sharks / planes with a vertical stabiliser above the body where the optimal positioning for a vertical stabeliser would be comprimised by the placement of our rigs perhaps we should be looking at yacht design where the stabiliser is under the body of the vessel? From a functional point of view it would be unlikely to become a problem on deployment regardless of size allowing for different configurations/larger sizes etc Thoughts ? Jump more, post less.
  18. Doh. That counts me out then :( Jump more, post less.
  19. LMAO :) Last month I had a pack job/opening at Empuria that resulted in four twists in the risers. How do you get twists in the risers???? Jump more, post less.
  20. I love my spectre 170 :) I can pack for myself but tend to use packers (lets not get into why). The only issue I have had was with one packer that was used to packing a slow opening for a cameraman. When they packed for me I tended to get twists on opening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU_3pzg-Jx4 We tried various combinations of packing (more line in container, more/less rolling of the nose) but nothing cured it until I spotted how they packed my pilot chute. They wrapped the pilot chute very very tightly before putting it in the pocket. Next jump I re-packed the pilot chute a lot looser after they had packed it and no more twists ! Jump more, post less.
  21. Yep - I had to practice waving off on my practice pulls on my FFC... Jump more, post less.
  22. Thanks to Matt and his awesome V3 I finally got some in flight photos of the Ghost :) Jump more, post less.

What did the jumper in question say when he saw the photo ?? Jump more, post less.
  24. the cool thing is... I had some old vids from my FS1 jumps that my coach had given me. Loaded them up into PMB and grabbed stills from them without any interlacing problems so the software is not just great for CX115 vids :) Jump more, post less.
  25. Yes it does but not when the CX115 is set for max video quality. I'm not sure if this will work with a hypoxic/bite switch though. How about grabbing still from the vid ?? If you use the PMB software that comes with the camera you can get stills that are easily suitable for web/facebook type use I had a few problems grabbing stills so started a thread and there are a few grabs there http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4171372 Here is a link to an original (1.3MB) frame grab rather than one I've re-sized for that thread. http://www.homepages.mcb.net/johnnyg/images/cx115_stills/paul_pnb_orig.jpg Jump more, post less.
