Slaps self on head... Duh - use the "if exist" - this file works on both 64 bit and 32 bit windows o/s. Note - you need to download skywombats converter from the other thread and replace the convert_win.cmd with the version in this zip file. All praise and credit goes to Skywombat - he's done all the work on the converter - I've just fine tuned his batch file. Jump more, post less.

I used the converter that Skywombat coded and I think the 64bit issue is just a path problem - in 64 bit windows the program directory for Java is "program files (86)" and not just "program files" - I've seen commercial software fall over on that one. I just fired up a 32bit VM and ran it there where it worked perfectly. If I get a sec I'll have look at the script and I guess just adding the full path to find java will sort it out. LOL - it just took me less time to change the file than to type this in - the attached zip file has the right path for 64bit... See post a couple below for the file Jump more, post less.

Skywombat has made a tool that converts the recon files into gpx format that paralog and Google Earth can open. It's on this thread http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=4389509;page=9;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; It works well Jump more, post less.
  4. In your opinion. I'd suggest you ask a computer tech "What is the one thing that the metro version of IE does that no other PC based browser currently will do??" Jump more, post less.
  5. so its just to look cool to look like u know what ur doin' lol No one thought they were cool until they put them on. So they don't make you look cool - mind you being a wingsuiter full stop makes you pretty dam cool !! But I've kind of thought about this and perhaps we are missing something here. These goggles are incredible. Yep, they could be a bit better in a few ways but how was I missing that "wow" factor that everyone else seemed to get? In reality they are seriously super trick and do show how far technology has progressed. Jump more, post less.
  6. Awesome program - worked very nicely. Thanks :) Jump more, post less.
  7. Ok, third time lucky - I've been trying to submit a reply to this thread since saturday.. Jumped the HUD on saturday afternoon. I synced the altitude in on the ground and then left the remote in my kit bag. It was fun heading up in the plane watching the speed and altitude climb :) I changed my mind about where to have the goggle strap - I had been planning on putting it on the outside of my helmet but decided in the end to wear my helmet over the strap. Exited the plane, goggles lifted, eyes watered, liquid pooled in the bottom of my eye - couldn't see the HUD = unable to fly like Jeb. Oh well. Uploaded the tracks to recon easily enough (except for the fact that the win 8 metro version of IE does not support the recon plugin) Issues. 1. Next time I will wear them on the outside of my helmet. 2. Can you see your handles?? With difficulty is my answer. Awesomeness? Totally. Everyone who saw them said they looked weird. Everyone then got told to put them on. Everyone then couldn't believe it. Gimic or not - they do have one hell of a "wow" factor amongst skydivers... Jump more, post less.
  8. Slightly different opinion here. I've had three gopro3 blacks and each one has failed and had to be returned. If I hadn't bought a zkulls mount whilst I was waiting for the first one to arrive I'd have given up after the second one failed... Still waiting for the replacement on my third camera... When the second one was working I was following one of my mates (n the mtb) he crashed right in front of me but the camera switched off right at that point. I kid you not - you can see the front end tuck but then the gopro just stopped recording. It started again next time I hit record so who knows what happened..... Jump more, post less.
  9. mine said something along the lines of press power button to connect. When I pressed the power button it highlighted the line of numbers on it. It then counted down and connected. Jump more, post less.
  10. I mentioned that in my original post so at least I'm thinking along the same lines. I forgot to surround my comment about forgetting to un-zoom the camera as being a good reason for adding another to highlight it was not really serious so here are some retrospective smilies
  11. Errr... I've done a few jumps and forgot to zoom my camera back out so I'd probably end up forgetting to point the camera forward again. For example. On my 399th jump I filmed my mates landing, next up was my 400th jump (obviously) and we decided to make it an offensive jump -see who could fly and make as many rude gestures to the other person. Reviewing the film after an awesome fun jump we found I'd forgotten to zoom the camera back out... Oooops. Two cameras does equal twice as many chances to screw up though.. I've tried swapping the CX115 but it ends up pointing straight up and not back - unless I fly head up rather than level. Jump more, post less.
  12. Can you buy euro spec lights for it? If they sell a similar model in europe then there should be a replacement headlamp unit. Now onto bikes - I've got a Blackbird with after market Halides - I've adjusted the angle of the lights so that when the g/f is on the back I don't dazzle cars in front of me. I got sick and tired of being flashed by cars... I can't see that far ahead when she's not on the back though. Jump more, post less.
  13. Hi guys. Please can you post up photos of your rear facing camera set ups ? I'm looking at running a rearward facing camera for some flocking (etc) and smoke jumps (non BASE). I've got a CX115 mounted facing forwards and was looking at adding a gopro pointing backwards. I've tried a few positions on my helmet and for wing suit deployments and belly to earth they would be fine - but in a low speed malfunction (such as a cutaway from mega twists where you'd be vertical) I'd be a bit concerned about the snag hazard. I know the reserve PC should fire out a reasonable distance from me but it's that 'should' that I want to deal with! Just wondering how people are dealing with this So, post 'em if you got 'em. Thanks Jump more, post less.

  15. Ace :) I've been out of work for a month, got a call today from an old friend, 20 mins later I've got a job with one of the most highly respected IT firms here. So I've just ordered a V4 to celebrate :) Jump more, post less.

  18. I thought that particular question was potentially open to interpretation as to how many you should select. Is it just the most important or all that are important. Or perhaps I misread the question! Jump more, post less.
  19. I think this is only really important IF a nav display was included. As long as it samples the alt and distance travelled at the same time then the glide rate and speed will be accurate. With the features it has I could live with a 1 sec update rate. On my list of 'wants' I'd be significantly more likely to buy it if I could program waypoints in to follow than a 5hz refresh rate. 20. Just been looking through the differences in recon products and noticed this --------------------- Will Flight HUD work with Recon’s MOD Live? No, Flight HUD will only work with custom built software for the MOD Heads-up Display. --------------------- One piece of functionality in the Recon MOD Live that would be handy is the "trail map function" - so if there is a little cloud about you could for instance enter waypoints to ensure you can navigate back to your opening point. 21. I had no interest in a 3D telly then two weeks ago my mate filmed a few our our wingsuit flights in 3D and it just looks incredible. So my 3D telly is arriving on wednesday!! Jump more, post less.
  22. Bit of an update. My N3A arrived yesterday so I've been trying various ways to set it up in my rawa helmet. The speaker I'm using for my flysite is very slim but it is still to thick to put the N3 the same side as it. The Rawa liner is cut to allow an audible in it and it's cut in such a way that I tired to put the N3A above my ear but there wasn't quite enough room. I then realised that I couldn't put it high enough as my Hypeye was stopping it from going higher in the lining. I then reasoned that if there was enough space on one side of the helmet for the Hypeye switch then on the other side there should be enough space for the N3a - and there is. I've just stuck a bit of foam against the helmet to protect the N3A and sandwiched it up against the liner. Plenty of room. So, in the left ear I have the speaker for the N3A and the flysight and in my right audible pocket my Optima II Just got to test jump it now :) Jump more, post less.
  23. A nice additional feature would be being able to put way points in. That way my flysight could tell me how I'm flying and the HUD could tell me where to go.. Useful on slightly cloudy days when you find yourself over a cloud that wasn't there on exit... Jump more, post less.
  24. I've got a flysight and I was after some comparison GPS data so I tried using my phone (samsung galaxy) in the chest pocket on my P3 - it got a good lock in the plane but lost the lock shortly after exit and I didn't get a positional fix again until I was under canopy. I tried it out on 6 flights with similar results. Jump more, post less.
