  2. Anyone thinking about / heading for Empuriabrava in september ?? I'm out from 16/09 till 02/10 and I'm not bringing my RW or FF suits - it's either a Hop and Pop or a wingsuit flight this trip !! Jump more, post less.
  3. Same image via PMB - great advice - many thanks :) Jump more, post less.
  4. I had suspected that was the issue but at the same time I wasn't expecting it as I had done a quick search on cx115 interlaced and hadn't found much (in the top 20 searches) but a new search for interlaced cx115 found plenty :( I had installed that on my desktop computer but not on the laptop I use for video editing. I'll give it a try - thanks :) Jump more, post less.
  5. I've got a CX 115 camera that is set onto it's highest definition setting (HDFX) that is meant to be 1,920x1,080 @ 25fps. I'm just filming mainly to have a bit of fun and if they want them to give copies to the people I'm jumping with but I'm having problems grabbing still from the video. Attached are two examples. The camera is set up the same in both cases, the software used is the same in both cases and the method of grabbing is the same but the difference could not be more marked. blurred.jpg shows considerable movement / motion blur in the subjects j237exit.jpg is ok, I'd be happy to post that on facebook or similar. It's not good enough to print but it is ok. I'm using Corel VideoStudio X4 to edit / grab frames but even if I use Zoom Pro or VLC to play the vid, pause it and grab the frame from there it's no different. Any suggestions ?? and I'm not strapping a still camera to my head!! Thanks guys!! Jump more, post less.

  7. yep - normally on my own at Tily as one of the wingsuiters is also one of the pilots... Jump more, post less.
  8. Do you normally jump at Langar ?? Perhaps we need to have a UKWS fun day somewhere central Jump more, post less.
  9. There was one load on sunday where over half the lift was wingsuiters :) Mac and Splat - it was ace chatting / flying with you. I'll be back down sometime as I've still got a jump paid for.. Monday turned into a really nice day for me, H+P to start the day, then a nice relaxed drive to Manchester rather than what I expected which was half a days jumping and then a mad rush to get north etc etc... Pete doing a H+P on his suit was awesome - wish I'd had the camera on !! Jump more, post less.
  10. That was from Sibson on sunday - it was a fun day !! Jump more, post less.
  11. I finally got a situation where I was happy to jump my Ghost. 1 jump on my phantom on Friday then two on saturday with no problems/issues and I was happy to hook it up. The first flight was awesome. Normally from 10k I get between 60 and 70 seconds of freefall. First jump was 87 seconds with 2 practice pulls and pulling at 4,500.. On sunday I headed to a DZ I'd never jumped at before. I did a hop and pop to get used to the layout (etc) and put the Ghost 3 on. A weak exit looking down gave me my first spin on the Ghost - lesson learnt - a good postive exit is the (obvious) way to go !! Enjoy !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLqvCNkssFU The next two flights that afternoon went a lot more smoothly !! Jump more, post less.

  13. A couple of weeks ago I had a very nice flight with some clouds to play with, normally on solo flights I'm just trying to maximise the glide rate but on this one I was just playing round with the clouds so the data didn't look great, the glide rate isn't very high, the forward speed isn't that high etc but that is all irrelevant as it was a great fun flight :) I'd thought about doing data overlays and the last couple of threads on it inspired me to try it out. I use a flysight/paralog and a CX 115 camera and after seeing a link I thought I'd try Dashware out. I had an issue with importing the GPX output from Paralog into Dashware as Dashware generated an error so I modified the paralog jump csv template, created a lookup in Dashware and set to work on the dashboard. About 60 mins after I'd started working on it I had a nice little dashboard running in sync with the video so I coughed up the $50 for dashware. I guess in total from never doing an overlay to uploading this to youtube was about 2 hours. 14. Crap :( http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=129082; I would have liked black & gold.... Jump more, post less.
  15. Still haven't jumped the Ghost yet :( I've decided it was best to do two jumps on my phantom and then the next one on the ghost but the weather just hasn't been playing ball. On three occasions I've got the two jumps on the phantom in the morning and then watched the weather close in and deny me that third jump.. I thought I had it yesterday, I got the two jumps in the morning, the weather closed in for a few hours but then cleared again, I got manifested on the last lift of the day that should have taken off about 90 mins before sundown but then due to one reason or another the last lift got delayed until I'd have been jumping just before sundown. Common sense got the better of me and I just did a nice hop and pop. Oh well - hopefully next time :) Jump more, post less.
  16. There is a side mounted box here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3954333;page=7;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;#4049670 Post 153 in this thread :) Jump more, post less.
  17. I just did this with mine http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=129097; Jump more, post less.
  18. I've noticed mine gives a single beep when it gets a GPS lock so I used that to test out the volume. Jump more, post less.
  19. It depends what jumping / wingsuiting is worth to you. I have a 4 hour boat ride + a 2 hour drive to get to my DZ but at the mo you'll see me there every other weekend. I wish I spent more on jumping than I do getting to the DZ as it's about $200 for the return trip on the boat but I get to meet up with a load of my mates, jump during the day and then chill out and have a beer with them in the evening :) It's worth every penny !! 20. My SR is only 1:1 as I'm always smiling or grinning like a loon anyway
  21. Nope. I've been the guys in the spin and I didn't get my panties in a twist when I came out of it and the guys weren't waiting for me. My only concern was where they were when I was opening. Jump more, post less.
  22. Thought whilst I had the camera out taking photos of my new suit I'd get some of the flysight / bungee mounting on my camera box. Just drilled two holes in the back of the box, bungees through and looped an old zip tie through to hold them in place. I tried it on the side of the box and it took a lot longer for the flysight to pick up the GPS signal. Jump more, post less.
  23. A what ?? And thanks for the comments on the colour scheme :) Just need to fly it now :) Jump more, post less.
