yes i always look out the door or have someone i trust check if i'm to far away. we did hold exit until we were clear but got yelled at for hosing the spot for the next group. since we were not able to get the situation worked out most of us quit jumping for the day and i talked to the dzo a couple days later. but still the issue should have never been an issue. from that time on i refuse to jump if the tandems go out first or won't leave until they are on the ground

we had this issue at my dz this summer. with the tandems getting out at 10500 - 11000. on 2 loads i landed before a couple tandems. i had serious issues with this and quit jumping for the day and later talked to the dzo. i didn't like opening in the flight line of the tandems heading back to the dz. with multiple planes they usually have offset jump runs to avoid these issues but with only 1 plane they may not think of this problem. the offset jumprun needs to also consider the earlier canopies flight back to the lz. until this thread i didn't even think of an a/c emergency. i see no good reason to put the tandems out low, the added jump run costs more in fuel and time, the idea of ti's doing back to backs robs the student of the post dive debreif, and the safety concerns really bother me.

skydive illinois lost a jump door back about 1998 on the caravan (or otter can't remember for sure). thtandem student got freaked so the TI said that was how we opened the door to get out. he believed it for a bit.

i understand why someone would jump at a dz that has bad owners (depending on what is bad about the dzo). it may be that it wasn't always bad or alot of their friends are there but you still need to say what is needed even if it pisses the dzo off. their are alot of dzo's that don't have good characture. now days it is all about the money and fuck the skydiver. i own a business so i understand money but being staight with the customer, honoring your word or the word of your staff, and sometime taking a loss is very important to continue on in business. skyride's owners and several other dzo's will lie, cheat, or steal to get your money and go about their day without a care. but sooner or later karma will get them and then we can all sit back and watch them loose everything that is important to them.

you are correct we did treat you like skydivers because are, most of us at chicagoland do not like skyride or their practices nor do we want the dzo to support them but we don't have a choice on how the dz is run just like you don't control skyride's practices. If i don't like something i speak up and say what i feel is needed regaurdless of the what might happen. this has left me with a not so good relationship with the currant dzo but i don't care. i would rather be kicked off the dz than not stand up for what is right. you are not a bad person because you jump at asc only if you protect the unethical practices that go on their. A good character is more important than being allowed to jump at a dz. If more people would stand up for what is right skyride wouldn't be doing what they are doing. when was the last time you told ben and carey that what they are doing is wrong ? your character not strong enough ?

the bottom line is both parties are thieves and will continue to take our money. the differences that i see between the parties is the dem's like to hide the money collecting from the general public by taxing the corporations. that's fine i just raise my prices or lay someone off, doesn't hurt me only the consumer. the rep's like to tax it staight to the people. that's fine i just keep my prices the same and don't lay any off. the difference that matters to me is what the money is spent on. the rep's give alot of money to companies that employ people, build things ect. generally hard working people. the dem's seem to like to give money to programs like welfare, companies like enron, and ect. i for one like that people that work hard favor well in the rep's rule and i don't like how the lazy unmotivated seem to do well in the dem's rule.

at least bush is being accused of doing something. just think if osama was taken back in 1996 or so. can't imagine how many lives were lost and how much money was spent in afganistan, and how many lives in 911 and how many jobs from the market colapse after 911, could have not happened if clinton would have taken bin laden back in his term. just think about all the lives clinton could have saved if a blow job was a little less important than bin laden !

at least this president is doing someting other than getting a blow job and then wasting millions on court dates determining weather a blow job is sex. while clinton was defending his blow job, the enron scandle (being fed millions by clinton ), osama and his plans and attacks, and the talaban were all going strong, planning attacks, and relieving many of their hard earned dollars. to bad clinton didn't spend any time or money on the serious issues.

and the prevoius 10 presidents wiped their ass with it also. it is surprising that so many are shocked at what is happening when we keep electing theese people. if someone has a better candidate or can do a better job please step forward. this new crop of presidential hopefulls is looking worse than the last. when we vote we need to look at the whole picture not just one aspect of the candidate. right now i will vote for the lessor of the evils not because i like the candidate. this is how bush got reelected. if gore was even remotely a good choice he would be president. why is it that everyone bitches about what is happening but we never seem to get a better choice? america is turning into a country full of whiney, snot nose, politically correct, and spinelss wimps that are only concerned with themselves. patriotism is dead in this country.

as in skydiving i don't scare. i look at a situation and address it as needed. only irrational people run around screaming "i'm scarred". just because the president or someone says things that are not good doesn't mean you make an irrational move. The american public had plenty of time to make a good descision about the war in iraq. i was convinced that even if half of what was told to me (since i don't trust anyone in the government and if you did you're a fool) was true, nocking out sadam was a good thing. Also as long as the front is in iraq or afganistan it is not here and that makes me feel safer. terrorist are here in this world to stay , were would you like the fighting to be? here ?

What I was told by a couple of my customers who served during the initial invasion of Iraq and Bagdad. Right after they took Bagdad they were nolonger allowed to shoot first they had to wait until given permission to fire back even when they were being fired upon. Because of this policy several GI's in their group were injured or killed while waiting for the order to fire back! This is why many of our GI's died.

the unions have given and taken at the same time. i have seen lazy people stay employed, hard working friends loose their homes during strikes, and buisinesses go bankrupt all because of unions. i for one would not welcome nor accept a union at my shop. unions have lived past their usefullnes at this point and time. imho

it isn't the education and taining he was striking down. i haven't read the bill but i bet there was alot of pet projects thrown in that cost a good percentage of the total $ being sought and that is why it was vetoed. the presidents for a long time have been wanting a line item veto but can't seem to get it. when any president veto's a bill the people hear shit like the kids won't get school lunches or some shit like that.if a congressman wants school lunches for some kids anotherone wants a new library in their name or a pond next to a highway or some shit like that they put those things together to get them passed. i would be interested how many little pet projects are berried in that bill. this is not party specific they all do it and i'm glad it was vetoed. maybe they will cut a couple unneeded things then it will pass. if they want to cut spending just deport all illegals and cut off welfare to the lazy people and that would save a couple billion

i like what some places are doing by cutting off illegals from welfare and free housing and detaining them if they can't prove to be legally here and think it should be widened to the entire country. deportation should be imediate and quick and then they can reapply at a later time. also it doesn't do any good if they can just walk across the border unchecked. the border has to be secured for any laws to be effective.

presidents make decisions all the time that may be underhanded or not what we like. name 1 president that didn't. roosevelt was told about pearl harbor before the attack but didn't say anything because he didn't want the japaneese to know that they had cracked their codes. does this make him abad president? all those gi's that died most could have been prevented. does that make him a war monger like they are calling bush ? just because you don't like the desicions that are made doesn't mean they aren't the best decisions.
