  1. Just ignore it and keep hold of the paper for your records, if you hear from them again tell them to speak to your lawyer. I just googled the company and got nothing, theyre taking the piss.
  2. check out the "wing loading" post in gear and rigging, that should help a bit, good luck.
  3. All the above I agree with, the thing that really got to me yesterday was I saw a rig for sale (and I literally check every few minutes not to miss anything) I emailed and checked it was suitable etc and agreed to buy the rig, the seller then upped the price by a few hundred dollars. I thourght it was unethical but I'm presuming because I was so fast acting when the ad went up they thourght it would generate a lot of interest therefore upped the price. To me it couldve been handled better. As for the fact that you buy things off the internet and dont get to see them I dont think it's unreasonable to ask a rigger to check a parachute is in good repair before you use it, after all it saves your life and if theres nothing wrong with it then why would somebody mind it being inspected? Karnage Krew is probably a reputable company but what about Joe Bloggs who cant even be bothered to fill in his profile? I'll just add on to that, it does matter if your own rigger inspects it, anybody could tell me it's been inspected by a rigger but how do I know that? Life experience has taught me never to take anybodys word for anything and if you need something doing to do it yourself.
  4. I did my AFF, a fair amount of tunnel time and now working towards A license. The staff are second to none, always helpful and polite, nothing is too much trouble. You can get everything you need there from a new container to a cocktail and sunbathing next to the pool. The people are really good to get on with. The only criticism is that their prices can be slightly higher than other places although not enough to stop me going, the extra is worth it and for loyal customers, i.e. me, they could do discounts on stuff, ie coaching/gear.
  5. YAHOO to that but Ive never heard of watching it online for free? maybe.
  6. Why do people advertise things in the classified section then when they get the sale they either up the price, say its already sold or ask for payment without a rigger inspecting it. Three times this has happened now and I'm pissed. What happened to morals?
  7. I was born in Salford, Manchester (UK) and worked refitting/servicing medical gas equipment and diving cylinders and then driving big rigs. My wifes work is in LA where I now live and started skydiving this year. Plan on applying to LAPD but doubt I'll get in because of my age, I'll still try though.
  8. Oh boy thats tough. I can understand where youre coming from, I lost a friend when we were teenagers. Dont beat yourself up over blame or whatever, accidents are exactly that, accidents. I dont think youll ever get over it but you will eventually learn to live with it, it makes it worse being this time of year. All the best, I mean that.
  9. 158. I always thourght I was quite out there, compared to some of you lot I'm a choir boy
  10. At least youve done it, 90% of people will never even try
  11. oh jeeez sorry to hear that. Ive heard of things like this happening before (Gordon Ramsey, Bear Grylls). I suppose it could've been worse. My wife did a tandem and badly damaged her knee, not as badly as yours sounds, it's looks bad though, now she is really opposed to me skydiving. I should imagine one day I'll stop, half of the problem is the people at the dropzone are really nice so it's like a liitle social occasion in a way?! I make a day out of it
  12. I was only messing. But seriously I was wondering why its so difficult for student skydivers to get gear. I was looking at the classified ads and theres a few "wanted" ads for beginners, surely you would think someone would exploit this gap in the market?
  13. Go to the pub, get pissed and watch the Hatton/Mayweather fight. tada.
  14. What do you think about the devaluation of the pound?
  15. I also had dealings with Richard this week and although I never did end up buying anything he answered my emails promptly and was polite, he even said he will keep an eye out for the stuff I'm after, whether that happens or not I dont know but I thourght it was a nice gesture.
  16. That wasn't this morning was it? The blue and magenta one? If it was I looked at that ad and thourght it to be dodgy. I asked the vendor questions to which he didnt reply and the price just wasnt anywhere near what it should be, amongst a lot of other stuff.
  17. Everone is saying that to me. Being an Englishman in LA if Hatton doesnt win I'm never going to live it down. I cant stand Mayweather, cocky *astard. I havent seen enough of Mayweathers fights to put a proper comment on it. I've followed Hatton and I know he's a bloody good fighter.
  18. Looking forward to seeing Mayweather get his arse kicked this saturday night by the one and only hitman hatton, a fellow manc. Wouldve watched in Vegas but with tickets starting at over a K it looks like its the Kings Head.
  19. dude, i hate leaches!!! Never had one on me, but they freak me out! it was just a quick thought in my head, not dwelling on it or anything It's good to have standards.
  20. Its true, the voices in my head told me.
  21. I like that you worried about leaches with a gator right in front of you.
  22. Thats a good question, I was just wondering that myself but doing it the other way?! I have done it both ways before and it (I'm English but live in SoCal) usually has gone on weight before although to be honest I'm not 100% sure how it works. I've bought from all over the world from different websites etc and paid the postage but they sort everything out. Dont suppose I'm helping here am I? I'll shut up
  23. Thats no way to tqalk about my mother.
