  8. Ok everyone-- just a reminder for the big weekend coming up-- the Excel Basic Camp is ON for this Saturday, April 24th, being led by Elsinore Fuse! Also, as an added bonus, Bryan Harrell will be dropping by the group to give a brief canopy seminar at 8:30am, and can answer any questions you guys have. Bryan leads Elsinore Canopy Connection, and is available for one-on-one canopy courses and coaching. This talk will be FREE, so take advantage of it and ask some good questions! Also this weekend is the Freefly Fiesta happening at Elsinore, so come on out for the camp during the day, and stick around after hours for Fiala spinning some tunes while we chow down catered din-din watching Pat's video of the week. Word UP. This weekend is jammed, so see you out! LATER! Mel __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html

  10. How were the Excel tunnel sessions on Friday and Saturday night?------ They were great, thanks!! The tunnel is just such a tremendous learning tool-- every time I get in there with someone, we see improvements. Who were the tunnel coaches? ----- For this last camp it was me, John Hamilton, and Lou Ascione. Doug Forth is also an Excel tunnel coach, and we're all available for coaching all the time. Do you offer tunnel time every time that you have your Ex-Cel Camp or is that seperate?----- We would like to build a group vibe through the Excel camp, that spills over into the tunnel camps as well. Grab who you jump with, and hit the tunnel too. Keep it fun and friendly, while getting more focused personal attention. (This post might get deleted as the coaching clearly is a paid thing, so I'm trying not to plug, but more just answer your questions! ) I am not sure when I can afford more tunnel time (I have to pick between tunnel or sky jumps due to $$$), but I would like to know the schedule for Excel tunnel time, just in case. ----- We haven't set the dates for the next official Excel Tunnel Camp yet, but I will let you know as soon as we do-- I think we're looking at the weekend of May 1-2. But really, if you want to get in, just let me know and we'll make it happen. Btw, how did the Easter Scrambles go?----- Awesome! It was a great time-- one team ran away with it, but we all had fun. My team ended up scoring the treasure from the hunt, so we were psyched. All about it. Must jump more at Elsinore! ----- Yeah, we miss you over the hill! It's all good-- I'm sure we'll see you soon enough! __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html

  13. Gotcha-- there's GOT to be something out there to cover it. I'll let you know if I hear of anything. Good luck, hon. See you Friday... xo __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html
  14. I also had good luck with AllState-- I have separate sub-policies covering my cameras and all of my skydiving equipment up to something like $25,000 for the gear, and $10,000 for the cameras-- $5,000 each item for both sub-policies. Maybe don't call it a business policy, but a recreational one? I am an AFF Instructor and officially a "professional" but I also am a recreational skydiver too-- can't you say something like that for renter's ins to cover it? __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html
  15. I just got myself a PC-105 too-- SO glad I got it when I did! I went with the 2kC helmet and should have it in 2 weeks max. SOOOOOoooooooooo ready for it to get here! As for my camera-- I got mine from digitalliquidators.com, and they were great, and very helpful on the phone.... __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html
  16. 4-way talk during the work day? Uuuh... ALL ABOUT IT. Just warning you though, I'm one of those annoying feeeeling skydivers, so I might not have the best words for the technical side of things... but I'll give it a shot for the sake of procrastination. __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html
  17. Haha-- thanks for the posts guys-- I actually posted this thread way back in August of last year, and feel pretty dialed in on 18's now with the center's crossing first-- the pictures are very clear given the centers go out the proper initial distance-- and the key I found for my move over tail is to just DO LESS. I was originally putting in a crapload of power and then trying to stop ridiculously hard, resulting in the whole piece tipping, sinking, and drifting too far out. Yeah, chilling out and doing less was the key for me. I've never done the block with the outsides crossing first, so can't really comment on what's better. Although I will definitely say I like the vertical method a hell of a lot more than the cogg. As for sticking your hands in your armpits and feeling like a superstar-- all about that sh*t. Feelin' it, Sista of the Xandre __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html
  18. Hey Kris-- the next Excel Camp date is Good Friday, April 9th, for sure. We want to kick off the long weekend on a good note. It may also be happening that Saturday, Apirl 10th also, but I first need to see if I'm going to be captaining a team for the Easter Scrambles that day (another way fun event). If not, the Excel Basic Camp will be both days. I will re-post when I know what's happening for sure! THANKS! __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html
