Along the same lines, please try to be aware that when you look up and say certain things, it may cause undue concern. For example, gazing skyward and saying, "Hey! That guy's got a streamer" when a jumper is merely practicing for a demo and trailing a streamer from his foot tends makes me worry for as long as it takes to figure out what's actually going on.

Businesses take credit cards because they believe they'll get enough additional business to make up for the extra cost. DZO's realize they can lose tandems or students if they don't take credit cards. They may not mind paying the merchant fees when it's a student or tandem charge. But if the amount they charge for a regular lift ticket doesn't have enough profit built in to cover the cost of the merchant fee, they don't want to lose money just to offer convenience. Walmart and larger stores pay a smaller percentage for charges than what a small business pays. Cash or credit, the prices are the same and the cost of allowing credit cards is factored in. If dropzones factor in that cost to keep prices the same, the price of a lift ticket would go up for everybody. Even if dropzones have a merchant agreement not to charge more for credit card purchases, I'd like to be able to use a credit card in an emergency even if it cost a little more. The last time I used a credit card to jump was at the WFFC when there was one price for all and they were charging $2 more per jump than I expected. The way I look at it is if you know it costs less to use cash, take cash. If the DZO would rather you use cash, take cash. If I plan to make a lot of jumps, I like to pre-pay with cash so I don't have to worry about losing/drinking/spending it all away. That is unless the DZ is reluctant to give refunds even if you don't get all the jumps in that you paid for.

Just after I ordered Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8 Platinum, I noticed a newer version of Sony Vegas. I searched this forum but could not find any reference to it. I thought that was odd and wondered if I had jumped the gun. I just installed 8.0 and it promptly updated itself to Vegas Movie Studio 9.0. So, in case anyone is wondering what the difference between 8 and 9 is, I guess it doesn't matter. Whoops! Although it looked like 8 was updated to 9, I just launched Vegas 9.0 and it asked me for a serial numer that I don't have. I tried the serial number that came with 8 but it didn't work. I did back out and 8 launched with no problem.

If you used a short male to female cable it would be cleaner than cutting the cable on your highly recommended HypEye D Pro. However, I wonder if you leave an AV/D connector in the camera if you'll be able to use it like you want to. Without the optional debrief cable, I have to disconnect my HypEye D Pro in order to play what I've recorded. Would a cable plugged into the camera but not connected to anything disable playback or is it the HypEye D Pro plugged in that does it?

I wish I had known that... I saved birthday and Christmas money for two years, then paid full price. Instead, I could have given them $400 after one year and would have had the helmet 6 months earlier. Edited a typo. (Tears made the keyboard slick...)

My only cut away landed beyond the runway at the edge of the treeline. I landed on target without watching my main one bit because I assumed correctly that somebody on the ground was tracking it and would be driving out to get it just like I would have had the situation been reversed. However, if it had been deep in the woods, I had given up looking(that would have to be one really lost main), and somebody else sacrificed to recover it, I would have happily paid a reward. On the other hand, if I ever find someone else's main, I wouldn't expect or accept any cash. So many people have helped me my whole life I feel like I owe the world.

I agree with Billy. Emerald Coast is not my home DZ but I love to go there whenever I'm nearby. It has always been a good time.

You are not alone. I've seen the shake on a top mounted CX7 with the OIS turned on. It only had a problem in a sit fly though. Head down and belly were good. Once I get a Cookie box, I'll be trying to sit with the OIS turned off. As far as other ideas, I'm at a loss.

I am curious about the need for removing the strap. I have a Cookie box on the way for my CX7 and I hope it will fit with the strap attached...? If the camera is not in a box, maybe the strap beats against the camera and causes shudder...? Anyway, rather than sew the strap back together, or trust velcro for regular use, I'd try sewing on hooks and eyes like the ones on a bra strap.

You can record 30 minutes at the highest quality if you have a 4GB card. An 8GB card allows 65 minutes and I have to assume the 16 GB cards holds at least 130 minutes.

An earlier post suggests there is a workaround for an indicator light but I don't know what it is. Hopefully it isn't saying, "Hey buddy. What color is the light?" The camera documentation had me wondering about the memory stick, too. So, I looked on the Sony Style site - http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=11040818&tab=Compatibility to see if the 8GB stick will work with the HDR-CX7 before I ordered one. Since I have been using it I can say first hand that it does work.
