  1. who is on Snatch Force? and whats wrong with hoggin the tunnel time???
  2. Is Don back in the air again? Can you pm with John's contact info (we promise not to hurt him!!!) Steve
  3. Yes, Thomas will be with us. I did click on the team name - got no picture. Of course - if I'd been paying attention, I'd have known the members were listed across the top [edited to reflect that I'm a knucklehead]
  4. Didn't mean to take anything away from the performance of fastrax. Yep - GT will make its first appearance of the season. Should be worth a few chuckles. We have no video and only about 60 jumps with this group. SSL this weekend will be the battle of the PC's. Should be very entertaining. Ron - were you guys Team Zhills this last weekend?
  5. "really fast" is an understatement. Wish that draw was being used for the upcoming weekend. Steve GT
  6. Dom - I was a benefactor of the "no shows" last time and yes, I'm a greedy bastard when it comes to tunnel time. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Steve GT
  7. Believe it or not GT will be there. Wish the meet had been weekend past. Did you see that fast draw???? Steve. GT
  8. I would be stunned if anybody at USPA or Eloy instructed anybody to breakoff no "higher" than 3500. I haven't heard of any 4 way teams leaving at 3500 for at least 5 or 6 years now. Comp manual is intended to mean no "lower" than 3500. Repeated low pulls (ie: twice) will/can get you disqualified from a competition and it has happened. I'm not entirely sure, but I do believe a competitor in the Artistic Events was DQ'd last year following a cypres fire. As for this thread - plenty of top 4-way teams break-off at 4500 even at meets. Break off where you are comfortable. If you are leaving lower than where you are comfortable, your skydive will suffer as you will be focused on break-off rather than the skydive. Steve GT
  9. gordo, whats up? Aren't you filming directe? Steve
  10. Elsinore GT is currently in need of a 4-way video flyer for both the remainder of the training season and Nationals. Please pm or email Steve Miller of GT if you are interested. Thanks Steve GT
  11. Hi folks - just wanted to get this back to the top of the list and I will cross-post in RW forum. GT is still looking for a video flyer and we WILL need somebody for Nationals. Please pm or email if interested. Thanks. Steve GT
  12. While I'm a huge fan of the USA (who among us isn't), lets not forget about the french and the russians. In Croatia, the Russians put up some amazing rounds (See rounds 5 and 7). Not sure if that group is still together, but if they are watch out. Also, lets not forget that Shannon and Bobo from Fire both have international bronze to their credit from a world cup a few years back in Eloy while on Genesis/PD Blue. From the early 2005 videos, I'd give the US edge to Fire, but never count out the Airspeed program when international competition is on the line. I saw them do some amazing things in Gap (albeit 8 way). The international scene takes them to a different level. Should be interesting to see how the new players react. Italy with Pete should also be tough. Should be a great meet. Maybe I need a russian vacation to check it out live. Who said 4-way isn't a spectator sport. Nothing better than watching live judging in front of the Jumbo-tron with all of the competitors on hand. Steve GT
  13. Ok folks - thanks for hijacking an important thread. If you want to debate the PC issue - its been debated, killed, reborn, appealed to USPA, argued, reargued, drafted, redrafted, reappealed and over discussed more than any other topic in 4-way for the last 4 years. Let the PC issue go folks. Its hear to stay. USPA has made the very clear to us all. Only the ethical decisions about whether open class medalists should be on the podium in intermediate or advanced remain and thats up to each of us to decide on our own and with our teammates. Take it to another thread or Catie - repost a new one that is productive on your issue. Jumping off soap box. Now - back to business. Lets see what we can do about finding Alloy a new teamie for the rest of the season. PC or no PC, guest or whatever, this is a great learning experience for any Intermediate jumper. Keep the ears open. As Mel mentioned, these three are top flight people and great skydivers. . Steve GT
  14. Elsinore GT is currently looking for an experienced 4-way video flyer for the balance of the training season. We may also need a video flyer for Nationals, but this is not yet clear. Those interested should contact steve miller of Elsinore GT. Thanks. Steve GT
  15. Update - I have not purchased yet. I'm looking at a G4 that I saw in the classifieds on this site. BUT - there is software that I want to use to time and store training jumps that may require pc. Project should be over soon. S.
  16. This may have been covered in other threads, and I've cross posted in the video forum, but thought my fellow 4-way friends might have some ideas. I'm looking for suggestions for the best laptop to use for video editing, video storage and video review during a training day. Currently we are using a DVD recorder to record jumps, but doing dubs at the end of the day is time consuming. Also, no good for storage or creating/keeping a "best of" section. Also would prefer that it be window's based as it will be used for other non-skydivng applications as well. Of course, if somebody can make a VERY compelling argument for going MAC I'm happy to listen. Happy to hear both no cost and budget limited options. Looking for a laptop that (a) has good memory (how much do we need), (b) has good slow-mo on the playback for debriefs, (c) built in DVD burner, (d) video out so we can play on the larger TV screen and (e) decent video editing software. I suppose it should also have wireless capabilities for mouse, keyboard and internet. Anything I'm missing??? Thanks. Steve GT

  18. The IC slot is famous for its pain. You have the rear of the door trying to get you on exit and your teamies trying to get ya in freefalll. Protect yourself at all time. = ) IC's of the world unite!!!! I like the beer idea for each shot. I'm gonna use that one. As to why they put you there - IC is usually the brains of the bunch (or at least I like to think so). Go with that. Rule No. 2 - (after don't hurt the IC), the IC is always right. Rule No. 3 - If IC is wrong, see Rule No. 2. You're in charge, the QB, the Boss. Let the folks assigning you to the pain slot live with THAT S. GT
  19. Most important rule - Don't hurt the Inside Center. Steve GT
  20. lew - I love that idea. Vid should be underneath and exit from the front of the door rather than the step. Thomas - Go HUGE. Can't wait to see the video on this one. Steve. GT
  21. Thanks to those who have responded. The email addy each of you has provided is no longer active. Any additional help would be appreciated. Thanks to all so far. S.
  22. Does anybody know where I can might find Dave Weidner formerly of Jet Stream? Steve GT
  23. I'll let Dom tell that story! Steve
  24. So who is on Storm? You had some really, really nice rounds!!! Steve GT
