  1. Todd has a PC team? Which class? How are they performing?
  2. I assume that means Thomas is moving to OC? So is Todd doing 8-way only?
  3. Another 4-way tease. Which team will she be on at Nats and what are the plans??? If you're not gonna spill it, don't mention it. ; ) Steve Gt

    Perris Fury?

Lori - You tease!!! Where are the scores!!! Steve GT
  5. how did you guys do? Haven't seen any scores yet? Steve GT
  6. Agreed here as well. The good ol' days with the Wagners and Tidbits also appear to be over. Kurt's coverage was good, but it wasn't the same as having near real time updates from Tim and Ted on the scene. That notwithstanding, this was in my memory, the most World Championship videos available the fastests. Kudos for improvement over the past on that front.
  7. Congrats to all of them. That 28 was a think of beauty. Also - great meet by Select. Bummer to see that the tie was settled on the ground. I think the tie-breakers should be (a) jump it off until somebody wins or darkness or weather sets in, (b) single highest round, (c) ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, best 4 out of 7 (ie: team members alternate turns throwing down).
  8. Ron - does IPC have the "conditional" vs. "unconditional" rejump rule? I know USPA used to have this. Haven't looked to see if they still do. On a conditional re-jump, you would only be able to score the max of the prior. On an unconditional, you could outscore the prior jump. Now that I think about, didn't USPA change this re: clouds to say if you go - it counts, period. If you ride down, get footage of why you didn't go and hope we agree with you??? Not that this matters re IPC if the rules are different. Also - great meet by Select. Bummer to see that the tie was settled on the ground. I think they tie-breakers should be (a) jump it off until somebody wins or darkness or weather sets in, (b) single highest round, (c) ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, best 4 out of 7 (ie: team members alternate turns throwing down).
  9. Well, sure looks like you're right on that. I'm an idiot. I looked at the clock to see when they exited, then forgot to subtract it out at the end. DUH. I was told there would be no math. I stand corrected! That makes it an even better skydive. Why are they in rookie class???
  10. There are some rookie teams that could certainly move up too. Those rookie UK teams were smokin. Nice job. Steve GT
  11. That is one nice skydive. I might be wrong, but it appears that the 35 second score was 16 and that the 24 was in 45ish seconds. Does the rookie class have different working time? Are U.S. and UK different on these points? Still, all those rookie UK teams are certainly worthy of jumping in the AA class, nevermind A or rookie. Nice skydiving to them!!! [[Edited to include - Ok, I'm an idiot - Nevermind the working time stuff, its 35 seconds]] Steve GT
  12. Well - lets not confuse cynicism with sarcasm. Perhaps more facts would be helpful to the group. For example, was it 16+ in the tunnel or from the plane? Who were the other 3 on the 4 way? More power to ya if you hit those numbers at your experience level, I'm jealous!!! I've been doing this for a long time with the best of coaches and still can't do a 16+ without a player-coach in the mix. Steve GT
  13. Actually, I was referring to the best 10 round avg. rather than single round! Of course this old mind could be misremembering.
  14. Keep your eyes on the front pair as well throughout the skydive. Not a lot of flashing. Nevertheless, scores are what the judges say they are. Dont want to take anything away from Panthers. Judy should use this as a sample dive for training at the world meet.
  15. just took a look at the record. Nice skydive. I'd really like to see the score sheet. Separation is a bit close in some places. Great choice using the non-standard G build. Those guys have some seriously long arms. If my memory of the rules serves me right, isn't this eligible for World Record consideration given that its their National Championship?
  16. blistering draw - 3 blocks not included. Still amazing job by several russian teams. Check out the Ladybirds at 17+
  17. In very general terms, the top of the block is one point, the bottom of the block is one point. If the inter is done incorrectly, you will not score a point for completion of the bottom of the block.
  18. Alex - unless they are taking their bikes out of the back of a Sky Van I'm not sure I care!!!
  19. is phugoid still together? Whats healy up to this year
  20. Meet was intended to be Advanced Class winners at their Peak while in Advanced (ie: at the time they won the Gold). Unfair test to look at MD now vs. IC then. IC was a short lived team that broke up after the meet and graciously beating the dual PC team with Gary AND solly on it. That was pretty sweet. After seeing the MD round 1 at Nationals last year, you guys were pretty impressive. It would be a great meet to watch, but Jim might get a bit tired. Gravity has some skills. Fury isn't looking too bad either and both Thunder teams have some hops. Non-pro open class this year should be a great race.
  21. is there a world cup or any other event in 2007 prior to Nationals? If so, this Nationals would qualify them, at least on a USPA basis.
  22. Off year for World Championship, but not for other Class I events. Under USPA's sanctioning rules, you have to compete in open to be eligible. I think they'll stay open for sure. GT is in stealth mode this year, hampered by a broken back (non skydiving related and not as bad as it sounds). Pain notwithstanding, we are training in silence at night.
  23. Well, once GT always GT, but the question was what allows you to use the name. Alex flying solo, doesn't qualify. Now, if you want to get back out here and check the depth of the Pond, we can talk.
  24. Well - since I founded GT (if there is such a thing), the team resides (to the extent it still exists) in the same teamroom its been in for the last 4 years AND two of its original members (circa 2001) are still together, I'd say that qualifies. Then again, Fire has 3 former GT members (two original, one 2002-2004) so they are pretty close. Then, of course, there is Onyx, the team to which I imagine you refer that has two former GT, but no original members. Does NOT qualify. They are more like Formulaguello.
  25. Select in Advanced??? I tend to doubt that. It would really screw with future plans. Interesting that the Advanced scores tend to increase in "on" years. Ok, Advanced Class Fantasy Meet - Identity Crisis, Inferno, Mass Defiance, who take if each is at their peak in Advanced? [[For true junkies - who can name, without looking, the two connections between Identity Crisis and Mass Defiance - Ben does not get to play!!!]] Ron - what, no mention of GT in that list of Advanced contenders. I'm hurt. Topher has a triple PC team. They are going open (of course this is an assumption, they would be Advanced eligible and you can't count him out of Advanced ever) [[Not intended to start a PC debate, just stating facts]] Steve The team formerly known as GT
