  5. Yea. Its a sad situation. And the EU and IMF giving greece a loan is like having a terminally ill patient to give blood to an already dead one. The one advantage greece has over us it that it cannot inflate its currency like the U.S can. So while they may have a debt crisis. We could very well in the U.S have a debt crisis AND inflation if people do not pull their collective heads out of their collective a$$es. “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. 7. This was my first harness it was great. It felt comfy and for 50$ it does everything a beginner will need. http://www.rei.com/product/765510 Personally I use a black diamond atc. I trust them a bit more than gri gri's but its mostly a personal preference. Choose a device and knowing how it works is the most important thing. A device is no substitute for a good attentive belayer with proper training and knowledge. Like a few have pointed out don't buy expensive shoes. Personally I bought these as my first shoe. They were comfy. You WILL destroy your first shoes so get something cheap and comfy. http://www.rei.com/product/746020 chalk bags are cheap but you may want to think of a few things before you get one. 1. You want to chose whether you want one with strap that goes around your waist, or if you want one that you need to beaner onto your harness generally on your haul loop. Personally I chose one with a strap so I could wear it while bouldering in sweats. Also, the strap brings the bag higher on your body which i feel makes for easier acces; compared to a beaner on your haul loop. 2. You may want to think about getting one with a little zipper pocket. In this pocket you can put a few handy things you may want to have on an outdoor climb. Such as a cell phone, car keys etc. Also, check out rockclimbing.com. If you think skydivers have alot of drama wait until you read the rockclimbing forums. But after sifting through the bs there is generally some good info. Good luck on your climbing. “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."-William Arthur Ward

When/if i get licensed ill probably travel around and say hi to some of the other dz's in the state. Are you jumping at high sky or Skydive the rockies? “The mediocre teacher tells. 10. I feel ya man. I live up in broomfield,co (north of denver) and between the wind and random march/april snow storms I've been waiting weeks to get jumps 2 n 3. Looks like 60 degrees and 9mph winds sw for Saturday. So it looks like our dry spell is coming to an end. Hope to see you around sometime. Tyler “The mediocre teacher tells. 13. This is about 2002's I thought the unintended acceleration everyone has been up in arms about was in 2009's? I'm guessing the electronics are quite a bit different seeing as they are 7 years apart in technology. How is this at all relevant? “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. 15. They are going to find out sooner or later haha. Might as well tell them and if they love you they will accept that you like to throw yourself out of airplanes. 16. This was one of the primary reasons why I did not attend CU Boulder. That college takes stupid to a whole new level with some of its policies. “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."-William Arthur Ward
  17. if it was an 8way team i have also seen the said video- the "buddy" was my AFF instructor Kevin haha no way you happen to know where the vid is? Im glad everything turned out ok props to your aff instructor for handling it well. “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. 18. I remember seeing a video a while ago here with a skydiver who had dislocated his shoulder and he managed to communicate to his friends with his left hand that it was dislocated and to pull for him. And a buddy pulled his main for him. I am pretty sure it was a RW team. And I think it may have been in Europe. If you had the alti would you try to get a buddy to pull your main for you? Just something to think about. “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."-William Arthur Ward
  19. Thanks for the info, I did not know there were so many DZ's in colorado. Right now there is a bit of a time constraint for the interview to be done. But I have another project due in May that is a much more intensive project and I am thinking about talking to Skydive the Rockies about allowing me to sit in on a FJC. Do DZ's allow people to do that? And I also would like to thank AllisonH and JustChuteMeNow for offering their time for an interview. “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. 20. Hi, I will keep it pithy. I am 17 years old and a High School student. I have been assigned a project in which I need to contact a professional in a field that I have interest in. Currently I would love to teach when I grow up, so I decided to contact a teacher. But I wanted to contact someone that teaches a subject that most people would not think of. I think Skydiving Instructors are in a unique position when it comes to teaching the skills of skydiving because of the inherent risk and responsibility. Especially when it comes to whether a student can perform the necessary skills to continue in the sport. So if you are a Skydiving Instructor and would be willing to let me interview you over the phone, please PM me. Thanks for reading Tyler “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. 21. Hi, I am thinking about heading down to high sky adventure parachute club in Colorado with some friends and family for a jump. Since my friends and I are 16 this is looking like the only option at this time. So I was just looking for some input about the club. All of the reviews look good in the dropzone finder but I am looking for some input from some experienced skydivers as to their experience at this club. Most importantly of course safety which is my main concern and reason for asking. Since I am setting the whole ordeal up I felt like I should get some more opinions before making a decision since many of threads about high sky are old and slightly negative. Thanks for any reading and any replies. And please no flaming. “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. 22. hey, Colorado State University has a skydiving club affiliated with Mile Hi here is the leaders email, I don't know him nor do I jump at all but I used him for a paper I had to do and he was very helpful.
