  1. Seems like in order to get a nickname you have to land in power lines or a tree.. Guess what I'm doing this weekend! I be getting myself a nice nickname! wohooo!
  2. I told my boyfriend there are 3 rules to make this relationship work. 1. I am always right 2. everything is his fault and 3. I am the center of the universe. He has signed a contract agreeing to these rules, and we have been together for almost 1.5 yrs and not a single fight.
  3. 0:9:1 Made 4 jumps on Saturday but left at 2pm as I had a migraine. I took many meds but nothing got rid of the headache... I finally passed out at 8pm... only to wake up at 1am with a headache... Made 5 jumps on Sunday. 2 rw video jumps that went poorly. I missed the exit of a 4-way that included our dzo. I was too embarassed to ever show him the video. The beerable offense is due to the fact that I made a jump where I rodeod someone who docked onto a 2-way hybrid for the first time... it was amazing and so much fun! I also made a jump with 11 other people for a friend's 1000th jump. I also pied another friend who made his 100th jump a few weeks ago and never got pied... sigh... Mondays....
  4. I am a formulation chemist... not really one of the core chemistry... but basically I combine a combination of chemicals to make products having desired qualities. I guess if you had to narrow down to a core chemistry it would be organic chemistry, but there are metals and metal oxides involved too.
  5. Organic chemistry is the biggest joke on the planet. I spent my entire Sophomore yr memorizing oranic chemistry. I got A's in all 6 classes but did I retain any of this info? nope and I'm a chemist.
  6. You betcha! see you tonight babe...
  7. Like Icon said... I had the same thing happen to me... It happens when you shifts gears... you could be driving on the highway and it shifts gears and then bam no radio... the radio display is still there but no sound. I tried to put in an mp3 player and it still didn't work. I had that problem for about 2 weeks before my power steering finally started to be on the fritz. It turned out to be the transmission range sensor (there are other names for it) but it only cost me $150 for a part and some labor. The part is cheap but you need a special tool to replace it. Like Icon said... I had a 97 Mercury Sable...
  8. We are certainly trying to take over the dz at Start Skydiving... on almost every fun jump there are at least 50% girls... and On July 12th its going to be tuns of girls... hopefully we will make up to a 30 way all girls... boys have that silly Rudder problem....
  9. okay you can now sleep on the bed tonight instead of the floor...
  10. 0:9:1 I left the company picnic on Friday a bit early to get in 3 jumps on friday all 6 ways and all with me practicing my video skilz... Saturday I made 4 camera jumps of a 4 way team (without pay) for an MESL meet. We didn't finish due to weather rolling in... 2 on Sunday one 11way (turned into a 10way) all girls and then an 8 way all girls... with my cute boyfriend with the video attempting to not get all flustered with all the girls in the sky... The beer is for the first video of a 4-way team for a meet. I will never forget the sight of my boyfriend doing cartwheels in the sky as he is burbled by the all lady base...
  11. Well I just came home after a long day at work, to find that the dishes were done, clothes washed and groceries bought... so um... I'm going to say that my bf, Icon134 is the sexiest man alive!!!!
  12. Just because women don't have as much practice choking the joystick as you do...
  13. I have been in commercial airplanes since I was 6 months old. When I started skydiving I loved the rides up and was terrified to jump out and leave the comfort of the plane. Now that I am a bit more experienced I love jumping out and hate the ride up. I especially hate riding in commercial airlines... I use to love the take-offs and landings but now I am terrified of them.
  14. I have been in this situation. I deeply cared about a boy and he didn't return the feeling. I knew he didn't love me but I decided to wait in hope that he would eventually fall in love with me. I waited for months and eventually he broke my heart and we broke up. I can't tell you what to do. Each relationship is different. All I can say is if I had to go back and do it over again, then I would have broke it off before my heart was broken.
  15. I don't have enough posts either... not that I want to join the ddlist... although I kinda feel like I am already on the list as my boyfriend often gets these drunk dials at 3 am from people like... well... Bubbles!
  16. blah blah blah... go ahead and complain about your flu mist Scott... I was the one that was sick for a week because YOUR family gave me the flu! Note to anyone who gets near Scott and his family... get your vaccinations and flu shots....
  17. Last January it was really cold (like 40 degrees!) at 8 am and I was able to get out at 7,000 ft. Plus since there was no wind some of our group made it back to the dz.
  18. Yup that's how it happens. I met Scott when I wasn't looking. It was in a time of my life where I was not only not looking for a relationship but was avoiding a relationship... sigh... but Scott had to be this perfect gentleman, a man I was looking for all my life... Just remember you have plenty of time to find someone, just be patient.
  19. I didn't meet my boyfriend at the dropzone but rather at a dropzone related event at ohio state. I liked that he wasn't a skygod as well. He is always willing to learn and when the dz manager said he needed work on his tandem videos, he didn't get upset rather he asked people for help and advice. There wasn't one night or anything that won me over. We had similar personalities and things just seemed to be so natural. As a side note, before I met my boy, I told myself that I would never date a skydiver again. In my experience, male skydivers are often skygods (probably to impress the ladies) and are almost always openly horny... I am aware that not all skydivers are like this... hence why I am dating Scott.
  20. Just an update... I am currently playing phone tag with ASU and they are aware of the paycheck mix-up. I just want to let y'all know that I obtained the phone number for the financial department and was going to call even before I posted. I hesitated because I have never had that much money before. I have been a student all my life. I have worked 3 jobs at once while going to school so that I could pay bills and manage to stay sane by jumping a few times. I have recently fallen into some financial troubles and 6 grand looked so nice. I could spend it in a day, a million different ways. I was never going to keep it... and both Scott and I knew it. I just liked saying I was rich and had some money in the bank... but unfortunately off it goes to the great university of arizona state.
  21. Yeah, she never explained HOW she's living off of the friend. Considering how this thread shows her values I can only guess what sort of moral trespasses she endures to make money! WOW... y'all really are priceless... I mean seriously... fwiw... she isn't living off of a friend... she has a friend that is happy to provide a roof over her head until she can land a job (or more accurately until her current lease is up and she can get an apartment of her own) and as I said she is working on correcting the problem. This is not as serious a post as some of y'all seem to think it is... She breeds and fights dogs in a back alley gambling ring. She told me so. I thought she was roger clemons steroid pusher and now she's out of a job. shhh.... I told you the other night that I didn't want that to be known publicly.
  22. Its not a bank error. Its an error on ASU, my employer. They can't take it out of my bank... and by the way after taxes it was only $6,000, damn taxes took almost 3 grand!
